The birth of a new guitar in Paracho, Michoacán, México.
Green, is the very special colour which we can see all over the City of Graz and within the traditional Styrian ”Trachten-Gwand”, actually all over Styria. Green is the Styrian Colour and Green is the name of our Guitar Festival as well and green is the colour of the decorative motives on a guitar, Gerónimo García made this year in Paracho, Michoacán, Mexico, which also is an exact copy of one of Antonio de Torres’ (1817-1892) guitars.
Gerónimo kindly accepted the invitation to build this Instrument and to come to Graz to show this guitar (and also another one) during the Green Guitar Youth Festival Graz 2025.
Besides the green within the extremely beautiful decorations of the original Torres model that Gerónimo carefully made piece by piece, and built from exotic woods like the “Ojo de pájaro” (Vogelaugahorn-Holz), this guitar not only delivers a very special color of sound, but also is very easy to play, which characterizes the guitars built by Gerónimo García. Combined with a beautiful sound, a powerfull sound projection assists the classical guitarists, which is needed to play in large concert halls.
The guitars built by Gerónimo García, provides the guitar players and their audiences with a rich and color-full sound-trip.
In case you like to try/play this guitar, you will have the chance to do so from December 4th to 10th during the Green Guitar Youth Festival in Graz.
