"Here is a photo of the award winning Thai team on arrival at Suvarnabhumi International Airport in Bangkok with Kevin and Malee Whitcraft, long-time supporters of youth sailing in Thailand, who generously advanced funds to enable the team to attend the Optimist World Championship 2014 after two year's absence. For Kevin, having the team win both the Team Racing and silver in fleet racing was the best birthday present he could have ever hoped for"

TEAM SLOVENIA

"Our Slovenian team (Rok,Matej,Klemen, Niki and Mara) flew back from Argentina, over Rome to Venice on Friday arriving on Saturday, the 1.11.2014. They were picked up by Zeljko, father of Matej. Upon passing the border from Italy to Slovenia they got greeted by all the parents at the local club JK Pirat. Of course we had a small welcoming party with cake and drinks for big and small. They had plenty of stories to tell, but were also tremendously tired after having travelled for so many hours (17 hours)! Mara Turin was specially greeted and acclaimed as she was 11th overall and 3rd girl.

Children loved your country, especially the pampa and foods. They did not appreciate too much the military hotel they were put up into, but I am sure it didn't implicate their sailing abilities. They were very surprised that while sailing they had to encounter plenty of other floating obstacles in the waters, but then they don't often sail in South American rivers or rivers in general. They made many new friends and had plenty of adventures and they will keep us busy with stories to come.
