Following the performance “Alegorías” by Paula Comitre, we organized a free flamenco workshop for beginners, inviting students from the School of Ballet and other dance lovers to discover the essence of flamenco with Paula. Held in one of the studios of the National Theater of Opera and Ballet, the session offered participants a window to flamenco’s world of rhythm, passion, and expressivity.

Through our educational program, we become a meeting point for cultural discovery, and inspire creativity and connectivity through dance.

Pas shfaqjes “Alegorías”, artistja Paula Comitre mbajti një workshop të hapur të flamenkos për fillestarë, ku morën pjesë studentë nga Shkolla e Baletit dhe amatorë e dashamirës të kërcimit, për të njohur bazat e flamenkos. Sesioni, që u zhvillua në një nga studiot e TKOB, u ofroi pjesëmarrësve një dritare në botën e ritmit, pasionit dhe shkathtësisë së flamenkos.

Nëpërmjet programit edukativ, IDFT bëhet një pikëtakimi për zbulimin kulturor, si dhe frymëzon krijimtarinë e ndërlidhjen përmes kërcimit.

Programi i Punëtorive të Hapura i këtij edicioni mirëpriti kërcimtarë gjysmëprofesionistë dhe të rinj në një seri klasash kërcimi të udhëhequra nga koreografët që morën pjesë në programin artistik të festivalit.

Në Shkollën e Baletit, studentët patën mundësinë të njihen me dy qasje artistike të ndryshme: Anna Chirescu zhvilloi një sesion me maturantët e shkollës, duke u fokusuar në precizionin dhe ndjeshmërinë e lëvizjes, ndërsa Armin Hokmi udhëhoqi grupin e moshës 13–15 vjeç, përmes një stili më të lirshëm dhe eksperimental, të frymëzuar nga gjuha koreografike e veprës së tij “Shiraz”.

Përmes këtyre takimeve, IDFT vijon angazhimin për të ofruar përvoja edukative falas, që ndërthurin praktikat e lëvizjes me shkëmbimin artistik.

This year’s Free Workshop Program welcomed both semiprofessionals and young dancers for a series of dance sessions led by our invited choreographers.

At the School of Ballet, the students experienced two distinct artistic approaches: Anna Chirescu guided the senior class through movement precision and expression, while Armin Hokmi introduced the younger group to a more instinctive and experimental form of movement, inspired by the creative language of his piece “Shiraz”.

Through these encounters, IDFT continues its commitment to offer free, accessible educational experiences that connect learning and artistic exchange.

We couldn’t be more overjoyed, still charged with energy, emotion, and everything else this 4th edition of IDFT has been.

For three weeks packed with events, we met and exchanged with you in the busy, buzzing spaces of Tirana: in its theatres, streets, neighborhoods and historic venues.
We discovered new audiences through outdoor performances, shared powerful works inside theatres, rehearsed and created together for days, experienced the thrill of being on stage for the first time, were moved by deeply emotional choreographies, and danced and laughed together through the very end.

We are deeply grateful to our partners, supporters, all artists, and to the public — for your presence, your trust, your warmth, and for making this edition alive in every sense.

We can’t wait to meet you again for the next edition. And yes… we already have a few surprises up our sleeve.

Nuk mund të ishim më të lumtur, të mbushur me energji, emocione dhe gjithçka tjetër që përcolli ky edicion i katërt i IDFT-së.

Përgjatë tre javëve të mbushura me evente, u takuam dhe shkëmbyem me ju në hapësirat plot jetë të Tiranës: në teatrot, rrugët, lagjet dhe vendet historike të saj.

Zbuluam audienca të reja përmes performancave në hapësira publike, ndamë emocione të forta në teatër, krijuam dhe bashkëpunuam për ditë të tëra, përjetuam emocionin e të qenit në skenë për herë të parë, u prekëm nga koreografi të thella dhe e mbyllëm këtë edicion duke kërcyer e qeshur të gjithë bashkë.

Jemi thellësisht mirënjohës ndaj partnerëve, mbështetësve, artistëve, si edhe ndaj publikut — për praninë, besimin, ngrohtësinë dhe që e bëtë këtë edicion të marrë jetë në çdo kuptim.

Mezi presim t’ju takojmë sërish për edicionin e ardhshëm. Dhe po… disa surpriza i kemi gati që tani.

Last Friday, at the National Theatre – ArTurbina, the public experienced two strikingly contemporary works by Anna Chirescu.

The evening opened with “KATA” (extract), a piece born from Chirescu’s rediscovery of her father’s archive. Rooted in Romania during the dictatorship regime, this work traces a story of escape and the discipline of martial arts.

It was followed by “Ordeal by Water”, created in collaboration with Gregoire Schaller and performed by Chirescu to live guitar by Simon Deliot. The piece reflects on vulnerability and endurance, on how movement and sound can carry both tension and release.

Të premten e kaluar, në Teatrin Kombëtar – ArTurbina, publiku ndoqi dy vepra bashkëkohore të Anna Chirescu.

Mbrëmja u hap me “KATA” (fragment), një krijim që lindi nga një kujtim familjar i Chirescut, teksa zbulonte arkivin e të atit. E rrënjosur në Rumaninë e periudhës së diktaturës, vepra rrëfen një histori arratie dhe disipline përmes arteve marciale.

Në vijim, “Ordeal by Water”, e realizuar në bashkëpunim me Gregoire Schaller dhe e interpretuar nga Chirescu nën tingujt e kitarës së Simon Deliot, solli një reflektim mbi brishtësinë dhe qëndrueshmërinë e trupit.

Every year, we invite locals to join a participative project, inspiring joy and connection through dance.
This edition, Blossom by Cie Kilaï brought this vision to life. Eight local dance lovers participated in a week-long workshop, learning a choreography that blends gospel, hip hop, soul, and Afro house rhythms, and on Saturday, they performed it at the Pyramid of Tirana ✨

Çdo vit, ftojmë vendasit të përfshihen në një shfaqje me pjesëmarrje, si një mënyrë për të krijuar komunitet dhe lumturi përmes kërcimit.
Këtë edicion, Blossom nga Cie Kilaï ishte shfaqja që bëri bashkë 8 kërcimtarë amatorë në një workshop një-javor, gjatë të cilit mësuan një koreografi që kombinon ritmet gospel, hip hop, soul dhe Afro house, të cilën e sollën për publikun të shtunën te Piramida e Tiranës. ✨

“The Unknown” was a poetic reflection of how choreographers Mufasa and Abraham Diallo experienced Tirana’s rhythm throughout their stay in the city as part of the Festival. The piece was performed against a backdrop of artworks by Verim Zendeli, within the Gallery of Contemporary Art Tirana, and it unfolded as a multimedia experience, where dance, visual arts, and dance intertwined to create a love letter to the city.

“The Unknown” ishte një reflektim poetik mbi përjetimet e koreografëve Mufasa dhe Abraham Diallo të ritmit të Tiranës përgjatë qëndrimit të tyre në qytet si pjesë e Festivalit. Shfaqja u zhvillua në ekspozitën e artistit Verim Zendeli, në Galerinë e Artit Bashkëkohor Tiranë (GOCAT), dhe u shpalos si një përvojë multimediale, ku kërcimi, arti pamor dhe fjala e shkruar u ndërthurën për të krijuar një letër dashurie për qytetin.

The second week of IDFT drifted through some quite distinct worlds: the delicate paper universe of “ImagOri” at the Puppet Theatre, the cinematic reverie of “Notte Morricone” at the Opera House, the ritual precision of “Shiraz” at the National Theatre – ArTurbina, and the quiet, unsettling prophecy of “La Sibylla” at Villa 31 × Art Explora.

Four very different languages of movement, presented across richly layered and historic venues, these performances spoke to diverse audiences. Shaped by the spaces that hosted them, they reaffirmed once again what defines this festival: a constellation of encounters where no week resembles the other, and each work opens a new way of looking, listening, and belonging to the city.

Java e dytë e IDFT pershkoi disa botë të ndryshme koreografike: universin e brishtë prej letre të “ImagOri” në Teatrin e Kukullave, ëndrrën melankolike e kinematografike të “Notte Morricone” në Teatrin e Operës dhe Baletit, ritualin preciz të “Shiraz” në Teatrin Kombëtar – ArTurbina dhe profecinë bashkëkohore të “La Sibylla” në Villa 31 × Art Explora.

Katër gjuhë të veçanta lëvizjeje, të prezantuara në hapësira të pasura me histori dhe identitet të fortë, sollën përjetime të ndryshme dhe audienca po aq të larmishme. Këto performanca dëshmuan edhe njëherë thelbin e festivalit: një mozaik takimesh e bashkëbisedimesh, ku çdo shfaqje i jep qytetit një frymëmarrje tjetër dhe një mënyrë të re për t’u afruar me artin dhe me veten.
