CHOKE HOLE : BALKAN BEATDOWN at Prishtina Q***r Festival

why gag when you can choke, honey!

CHOKE HOLE is the world’s most xtreme drag wrestling phenomenon from New Orleans. formed as a collective, the show is a multimedia experience using every campy, graphic and most importantly q***r elements we love in our entertainment. and lucky for us, their bu****ug spaceship is landing right at our festival’s doorsteps! the cast will perform the biggest hoedown throwdown showdown in all of the universe for your moaning and groaning pleasure.

the choke hold doesn’t stop there because we have the most incredible line-up of DJs behind the decks all night to keep us in a trance!

PQF presents a PRE EVENT in Prishtina

before our festival begins in September, we’re collaborating with Daisies for a pre-event to give you guys a little glimpse of what’s to come. we’ll have a special screening of Kaboom by q***r cinema iconoclast Gregg Araki, whose colorful and irreverent vision is a major inspiration for our festival’s visual direction this year.
this absurd s*x comedy follows a group of teenagers embroiled in conspiracy theories, murder, a cult and the potential end of the world.

both the screening and after party are free, and open to everyone

the night will start under the sounds of xle3o. driven by a love for unconventional sounds, Leo enjoys digging into the corners of forgotten music, uncovering hidden gems that inspire his vision of the future.

having spent countless hours exploring artists across genres, he has shaped a sound influenced by great selectors, timeless records, and a constant curiosity for music that pushes boundaries.

catch him next Friday, at Frekuence’s outdoor stage starting from 20:00.

closing the outdoor stage at midnight will be a special guest from Berlin.

moves between worlds, channeling Balkan heritage into the pulse of contemporary club culture. with roots in Kosovo and a deep connection to Berlin’s underground, her soundbridges cultural memory and forward-facing energy. Her sets unfold as fluid, genre-spanning journeys, weaving deep basslines, raw percussion, and emotionally charged textures.

beyond the booth, Irma is co-founder of Merak, a Berlin-based Balkan collective dedicated to celebrating diasporic identities and creating space for q***r voices within and beyond the club.

nica2cica is a local DJ who builds around rhythm and low end, pulling from whatever fits the moment rather than a single lane.

founder of bodrumiii and head of a collective that has no limits (literally), everything is expected as an open genre label and event organisers. from all the travelling, Bunny got a lot of cultural insights into electronic life around the world and adapted those to a special sound.

before the big September gag in Prishtina, we’re making a lil stop at our friends in Tirana for a lil gaggery tasting. on 7 August, we’re throwing the hottest pre-party at Frekuence to celebrate our beautiful selves, the beautiful summer days, the closing of Frekuence’s first iconic season, the flamingo revolution, and of course, to get a lil taste of what Prishtina Q***r Festival is bringing this edition!

and who else could turn the night into the biggest club gag but , headlining together with our local gag masters xle3o, , arnisa and BagzBani.
