A familiar name is returning to the Antigua Classic Yacht Regatta. Juerg Zimmermann’s 40-foot yawl Lazy Leg has pre-registered for the 2027 Classic Regatta. Designed by William (Bill) Tripp and built in 1969, Lazy Leg has been a regular competitor at the Classic Regatta over the years, but she’s not joined us since 2019. We're delighted to see she’ll be returning and look forward to welcoming Juerg and his crew back to Nelson’s Dockyard.

2027 marks the first time we have opened pre-registration, giving owners and crews an opportunity to signal their intention to attend well in advance. As the fleet begins to take shape, we encourage owners of classic yachts, spirit of tradition yachts and modern classics to add their names to the list. Will your yacht be joining Lazy Leg in Antigua in 2027? Go to https://antiguaclassics.com/pre-registration/ for information on eligibility and pre-registering your yacht.

Pre-Registration Now Open for the 2027 Antigua Classic Yacht Regatta

The race has started.

Pre-registration for the 2027 Antigua Classic Yacht Regatta is now officially open, and we invite owners, captains, crews, and friends to join us once again in Antigua for another unforgettable celebration of classic yachting.

Word leaked out that pre-registration was about to open, and three yachts have already signed up. First on the list is Luc De Clercq’s magnificent Camper & Nicholson ketch, Saharet of Tyre, which edged out Matt Barker’s classic Alfred Mylne cutter, The Blue Peter, to claim the top spot. Luc was all smiles knowing he had finally beaten The Blue Peter. Also pre-registering is Paul Deeth’s Legacy Class ketch, Petrana.

From April 14–19, 2027, Nelson’s Dockyard will come alive with magnificent schooners, elegant classics, spirited racing, legendary shoreside gatherings, and the unique camaraderie that defines the Antigua Classics experience.

Whether you are a returning competitor or planning your first visit, now is the perfect time to secure your place in one of the Caribbean’s most beloved regattas.

The Antigua Classic Yacht Regatta continues to celebrate:
• Traditional seamanship and craftsmanship
• Competitive but friendly racing
• Historic and spirit-of-tradition yachts
• Legendary shoreside gatherings
• The relaxed “toes in the sand” atmosphere that makes Antigua Classics unique

Early pre-registration helps us plan dockage, race management, social events, and logistics to ensure another exceptional regatta for everyone involved.

We look forward to welcoming everyone back to English Harbour.
