India and Brazil have signed an MoU to strengthen cooperation across the steel and mining value chain. 🇮🇳🇧🇷
Signed between the Ministry of Steel, Government of India and Brazil’s Ministry of Mines and Energy (Ministério de Minas e Energia), the agreement formalises collaboration across exploration, extraction, processing, recycling and environmental management.
The partnership will priorities investment into mining and infrastructure, advancing mineral processing and beneficiation, promoting automation and AI-led geoscientific data analysis, and improving access to key steelmaking minerals including iron ore, manganese, nickel and niobium.
With India’s steel capacity now at 218 million tonnes and demand continuing to rise, securing raw materials and upgrading processing capability is becoming increasingly strategic.
