Bringing people together is what we do every day at dmg events, not just on the exhibition floor, but within our own teams too. Our recent padel tournament did exactly that, with plenty of friendly competition, big smiles, and colleagues catching up off the clock. It wasn’t about winning (although some may disagree!, it was about spending time together, having a bit of fun and building the connections that make a real difference day to day.

West Africa Infrastructure Expo and HVACR Expo Nigeria officially opened yesterday, bringing the region’s infrastructure and climate control communities together in one focused environment.

Alongside the exhibitions, the Nigeria Infrastructure Summit brought public and private sector leaders together to explore how Nigeria can move faster on delivery through financing priority projects, upgrading transport, power and logistics networks, and building digital, climate‑resilient and inclusive cities.

The opportunity across Nigeria’s infrastructure and HVACR sectors is substantial. Infrastructure stock is estimated at around 30% of GDP, well below global benchmarks, with the World Bank estimating up to USD 3 trillion in investment needed to bridge the gap. Population growth and urbanisation are accelerating demand for power, transport, water, digital infrastructure and efficient climate control.

This is why events like these matter. West Africa Infrastructure Expo and HVACR Expo Nigeria provide a practical meeting point for bilateral trade, product sourcing and informed exchange - connecting government, investors, project owners and solution providers to help turn plans into deliverable projects across Nigeria and West Africa.

Today we’re celebrating a very special milestone at dmg events - 15 years of Julie Allen.

Over the years, Julie’s impact has been felt in how our events are delivered and in the strong teams behind them. As she says so perfectly herself, what stands out most isn’t the events we deliver but the people she’s had the privilege to work alongside -a belief that sits at the heart of how she leads.

Julie oversees a large global operations team responsible for the operational delivery of our events around the world. It’s a role that demands resilience, creativity and unwavering commitment, and Julie brings all of that every day.

Thank you, Julie, for 15 years of dedication, leadership and for always putting people at the heart of everything we do.

We’re proud to share that The Africa Food Show has been recognised as Best Trade Exhibition (over 6,000sqm) at the AAXO - Association of African Exhibition Organisers ROAR Awards last week!

This awards is a real credit to the team behind the show. It reflects the care, effort and collaboration that goes into building a strong, relevant event for the food and beverage industry in Africa.

Last year in Cape Town, the show welcomed close to 9,500 industry visitors and over 300 exhibitors at the Cape Town International Convention Centre. A huge thank you to our visitors, exhibitors, sponsors and partners, this award belongs to you as much as it does to us.
