What if you could build your own classroom tool with AI, without knowing how to code?

In this reel, Katia Izmerli Reed gives us a sneak peek into her Common Core Boot Camp workshop, “No Code, Just Vibes: Vibe-Coding for Educators.”

This isn’t a session where you just watch and take notes. You’ll actually build.

Katia will show educators how to use natural-language prompts and AI to create, test, refine, and publish functional tools for their classrooms, from interactive activities and escape rooms to subject-specific resources.

The best part? You’ll leave with a working tool you built yourself and a repeatable process you can use to build the next one.

No coding background. No complicated syntax. Just an idea, AI, and a willingness to experiment.

What makes a leader truly effective? Is it the position they hold or how they choose to lead?

In this video, Heath Bailey gives us a closer look at his upcoming Common Core Boot Camp workshop, where he’ll help school leaders explore their leadership styles, understand their strengths and blind spots, and adapt their approach to work more effectively with diverse teams.

Through reflection, collaboration, and practical leadership activities, participants will explore how to build trust, strengthen communication, develop teams, and lead with greater impact.

Because evolved leadership isn’t about the title. It’s about the direction you give.

We’re excited to welcome Nida Habib back to the Common Core Boot Camp facilitator community!

With 14+ years of experience across American Curriculum and international education, Nida brings expertise in mathematics instruction, curriculum design, assessment, differentiation, and the Common Core and Virginia State Standards.

Her workshop:

Visible Thinking, Visible Progress: Elevating Mathematics Instruction

How do we make student thinking—and progress—visible in every math lesson?

This interactive session explores practical strategies for using purposeful questioning, clear learning intentions, success criteria, and formative assessment to deepen mathematical reasoning and respond to diverse learner needs.

Through classroom scenarios, student-work analysis, live modelling, mathematical reasoning challenges, and collaborative tasks, educators will experience strategies from both the teacher and student perspective.

Participants will leave with practical approaches to make learning measurable, strengthen mathematical communication, identify learning gaps in real time, and create more opportunities for students to explain, justify, and evaluate their thinking.

We’re excited to welcome Michael Norton back to the Common Core Boot Camp facilitator community!

As Head of Secondary at Collegiate International School, Michael brings extensive experience working across US/IB curriculum, curriculum development, professional learning, and transferable skills.

His workshop:

Going Beyond the Standards: Building Skills for Transfer

How do we move beyond simply covering standards to deliberately developing skills students can carry into new contexts?

In this hands-on session, educators will explore how standards and transferable skills can work together through a practical standards-skills-assessment audit.

Participants will conduct a “curriculum surgery” on a sample curriculum—identifying gaps and redundancies, mapping transferable skills, and redesigning a curriculum segment to make those skills visible through tasks, questioning, feedback, and assessment.

The takeaway? A practical framework to build more coherent, purposeful, and future-ready curricula without treating transferable skills as an additional layer.

We’re excited to welcome Mohamed Khalifa to the Common Core Boot Camp facilitator community for the first time!

With 13 years of international teaching experience across American, British, and IB curricula, Mohamed brings expertise in EdTech, Computer Science, AI, robotics, project-based learning, and STEAM education.

His workshop:

Innovate with STEAM: Water Rocket Lab

What happens when STEAM learning moves off the page and into action?

This dynamic, hands-on workshop puts educators inside the engineering design process as they design, build, and launch their own water rockets while exploring the physics of flight, aerodynamic design, and mathematical modelling.

But it doesn’t stop at the launch. Participants will explore how one project can connect science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics, and collaboratively develop a ready-to-use STEAM lesson.

They’ll leave with practical resources, safety guidance, launcher-building know-how, and an adaptable framework they can take back to their schools - from classroom projects to school-wide STEAM challenges and innovation clubs.

We’re excited to welcome Maaria Ahmed back to the Common Core Boot Camp facilitator community!

With 16+ years of experience in international education in Dubai, Maaria brings expertise in differentiation, intervention, data-informed instruction, and purposeful AI integration in teaching and learning.

Her workshop:

Hands-On Differentiation and Intervention Using AI

How can AI make differentiation and intervention more practical, targeted, and manageable?

This hands-on session will take educators beyond theory and into real classroom applications—using AI to analyse student needs, adapt learning materials, design differentiated tasks, develop targeted interventions, and create meaningful feedback.

Through live demonstrations, classroom scenarios, guided practice, collaboration, and quick challenges, participants will create resources they can immediately take back to their classrooms.

The focus is not on replacing teacher expertise, but on using AI purposefully alongside professional judgement, student data, and curriculum goals to create more responsive and personalised learning.

We’re excited to welcome Melanie Potgieter back to the Common Core Boot Camp facilitator community!

As an instructional leader specialising in data, assessment, teaching, and learning, Melanie brings a practical perspective on turning classroom evidence and technology into meaningful instructional impact.

Her workshop:

From Data to Impact: Smarter Teaching with AI

In today’s data-rich classrooms, the challenge isn’t having more information—it’s knowing what to do with it.

This hands-on session uses the DESERT Framework and the “See it, Solve it, Shape it” process to help educators use classroom evidence and AI to strengthen planning, differentiation, assessment, questioning, and feedback.

Participants will work through real classroom challenges, experiment with AI, refine prompts, and use the “Keep, Tweak, Reject” protocol to critically evaluate AI-generated ideas.

They’ll leave with practical strategies, templates, and a decision-making process to use AI purposefully - without compromising pedagogy, professional judgement, or student outcomes.

We’re excited to welcome Katia Izmerli Reed back to the Common Core Boot Camp facilitator community!

As an AI Literacy Lead, EAL Coordinator, and Mandarin teacher at North American International School in Dubai, Katia brings a unique perspective at the intersection of AI literacy, inclusive pedagogy, and practical classroom innovation.

Her workshop:

No Code, Just Vibes: Vibe-Coding for Educators

What if you could build a fully interactive classroom tool without knowing how to code?

This hands-on workshop takes educators from idea to working, published classroom tool using AI and natural-language prompts.

Participants will see real tools already being used in schools, then build their own—prompting, testing, refining, troubleshooting, and iterating with AI throughout the session.

From escape rooms and multilingual resources to subject-specific classroom tools, educators will discover how vibe coding can turn an idea into something students can actually use.

The best part? You don’t just watch, you build.

What does it take to create learning experiences that Gen Z students actually connect with?

This highly interactive, student-led session explores engagement, belonging, wellbeing, and authentic student voice—helping educators look beyond assumptions and understand what today’s learners really need.

Through live polls, small-group discussions, a teen-led panel, redesign challenges, and collaborative activities, participants will examine real student perspectives and rethink traditional approaches to lessons, assignments, and school culture.

The session will help educators bring more relevance, choice, collaboration, curiosity, and student voice into their practice—while creating emotionally safe environments where students feel heard and supported.

Participants will leave with practical strategies and a 30-day action plan to start making meaningful changes in their classrooms and schools.
