🎉 WORLD AMATEUR MATCH RACE JOINS WPSL GROUP – THE NEW GLOBAL GOLF “SUPERGROUP” ⛳
World Amateur Match Race is proud to announce that it has officially joined the WPSL Group, widely being described as the new "Global Golf Supergroup" and one of the largest movements in world golf since the emergence of LIV Golf.
This is fantastic news for our 43,000 match play members across 34 nations, who will now be able to participate in one of the most ambitious and exciting global amateur golf schedules ever created for 2026 — and from just £99.
⸻
New Formats & Expanded Opportunities
By joining WPSL, World Amateur Match Race players will now have access to:
Their traditional match play formats, and
Additional singles events using the Stableford points format, referred to within WPSL as “Super League”.
What makes this particularly special is that the Super League singles format has already been played by some of the biggest sporting legends in the world, including:
Formula One World Champion Damon Hill
Manchester United treble winners Teddy Sheringham & Andy Cole
Liverpool treble winner Robbie Fowler
In addition, many other former Liverpool and Premier League stars have teed it up in Super League, including (but not limited to):
Ronnie Whelan
Steve McMahon
Phil Babb
Steve Staunton
Jason McAteer
Bruce Grobbelaar
Arsenal Premier League legends Lee Dixon and David Seaman will also compete.
It isn’t just sporting icons who play: global pop stars such as Brian McFadden (Westlife) and Keith Duffy (Boyzone) – who between them have sold over 80 million records worldwide – are also regular competitors in Super League.
⸻
Pros, Amateurs & Celebrities – On the Same Tees
One of the most remarkable aspects of WPSL “Super League” is its levelling format:
Tour professionals, elite amateurs and celebrities all play from the same tees,
Using handicap and Stableford points systems,
creating a genuine level playing field where amateur golfers are teeing it up against Ryder Cup players and European Tour winners in meaningful competition. It’s never been seen before in this way.
⸻
Bucket-List Global Schedule for 2026
To further excite World Amateur Match Race members, WPSL has assembled a 2026 schedule packed with bucket-list venues, including (among others):
Bethpage Black (New York)
TPC Sawgrass
World-class venues in Dubai and Abu Dhabi
Marco Simone (Rome) and leading destinations in Spain such as Camiral
