THE BUSINESS SIDE OF GOSPEL MUSIC TAKES CENTRE STAGE TODAY

Marketplace for the Master, an initiative of Harare City Centre SDA Church, will host a free Music and Ministry Seminar on 2 October 2026 at Zimparks HQ, running from 9:30AM to 1:00PM.

Held under the theme “The Business Side of Gospel Music,” the seminar will explore some of the key business issues affecting gospel artists and music ministries, including royalties and rights, airplay, streaming and digital income, branding, contracts, bookings and running a sustainable music ministry.

Gospel artist Minister Everton Mlalazi will deliver the keynote address, while the panel discussion will feature National Arts Council of Zimbabwe CEO Napoleon Nyanhi, ZIMURA Board Chairman Alexio Gwenzi, Minister Michael Mahendere, EarGround’s Plot Mhako and Power FM Station Manager Leander “Leekay” Kandiero. The discussion will be moderated by Yvonne Tivatye.

The seminar is open to artists, musicians, music industry practitioners and those seeking a better understanding of the relationship between ministry and the business of music.

Happy Birthday to a true revivalist of this generation — Bishop Gamaliel Blessing Madindi. ❤️🔥

Some people are gifted, but there are those whose lives become a gift to others. You are one of them.

Your greatness is not only seen in the songs you lead, the stages you grace, or the ministry you carry. It is seen in the lives you have touched, the people you have raised, the young voices you have given a platform, and the leaders you continue to inspire. You have made room for others to discover their gifts, find their voice, and step into what God has placed inside them.

You have carried a burden for a generation — not simply to gather crowds, but to raise people. Through your ministry and music, you have reminded many that their lives have purpose, their gifts have value, and their generation still has a place in God's agenda.

There is something remarkable about a man who can be great without being threatened by the greatness of others. You have chosen to pour, to empower, to open doors, to celebrate others, and to create platforms where young people can rise. Affectionately known as “Amai,” Pastor Bonnie has spent over four decades shaping the spiritual and musical landscape of Zimbabwe. Alongside her husband, Pastor Tom Deuschle, she co-founded Celebration Ministries International—turning a small home fellowship during a time of conflict into a global network of faith. But her impact doesn’t stop at the pulpit. As a pioneer of contemporary praise and worship in southern Africa, she revolutionized gospel music. By blending powerful vertical worship with rich local sounds, the Celebration Choir has led millions into the presence of God. From anthems like Yahweh and Rudo Rwamwari to the star-studded collaboration Magnify, her melodies continue to lift spirits and cross borders. Today, we celebrate Joseph Madziyire—a visionary leader, entrepreneur, music producer, author, and the Chief Executive Officer of ZimPraise and AfriPraise, whose unwavering commitment to the Gospel has transformed the landscape of contemporary gospel music in Zimbabwe and beyond.

Raised in a pastoral family, Joseph discovered his passion for music and worship at an early age. Over the years, he has combined his creative gift, leadership, and Kingdom vision to build platforms that have become synonymous with excellence, unity, and authentic worship. Through ZimPraise and the continental vision of AfriPraise, he has inspired thousands of worshippers, nurtured emerging talent, and created opportunities for collaboration across churches, cultures, and nations.
