Join us for an Unforgettable Afternoon of Art, Culture, and Community!

Calling All Artists!
We invite poets, actors, dancers, singers, and all interested groups to share the stage with us!

Performance Guidelines:
📝 Poets: Bring 3 poems to share
🎭 Actors: Prepare a monologue:2 Minutes
💃 Dancers: Bring 2 items to perform
🎶 Singers: Come prepared with your items
In any of the 11 official South African Languages.

We're excited to announce that our organization will be providing discounted transportation for our Worcester audience members to attend the Festival.

To secure their seat, Worcester audience members must first purchase their festival ticket through Quicket for R80.

Once they have their ticket, they can pay an additional R100 to our Worcester coordinator Sukoluhle S Lebaea for return transportation from Worcester to the Joseph Stone Auditorium.

Synopsis:
UMABUYEKWENDENI: Thembisa's Story" is a powerful and thought-provoking drama that tackles the pressing issue of gender-based violence in South Africa. The play tells the story of Thembisa, a woman who finds the courage to stand up against her abusive husband and ultimately takes drastic action to protect herself.

Through Thembisa's journey, the play sheds light on the struggles faced by countless women in South Africa who suffer in silence. It explores themes of patriarchy, toxic masculinity, and the resilience of women in the face of adversity.

As Thembisa's story unfolds, the play ignites a conversation about the urgent need for change and the importance of empowering women to reclaim their rights and dignity.
