Wild Coast Crossing Charity Run 2022 has finally arrived.
Tomorrow morning at 6am a group of avid trail runners will run across the entire Wild Coast for charity. Starting at the great Kei and finishing in Port Edward, the runners will cover approximately 311 km’s in 5 days. In partnership with Pillars Of Hope ,the runners will aim to raise funds and awareness in support of the Pondoland Conservation Trust. The funds will be used to help fund the construction of a communality center in Msikaba. The Centre will provide a library for learners, mobile clinic for the community, a meeting hall, Wi-Fi hub and a borehole for drinking water.
We believe that the only way to protect and preserve the environment is through community upliftment and awareness programs. We hope that these programs will guide communities on a path of sustainable development and that through such initiatives, communities will see the advantages of low environmental impacting industries such as tourism compared to highly environmentally impacting industries such as mining over the long term. Strong community buy-in will be key if we are to preserve the Pondoland for future generations.
Any support will be greatly appreciated, and you can donate to Pillars of Hope (bank details attached) using payment ref (your name) Pondo
