Last year, only one rider came close to cracking the 1-hour barrier up Sani Pass - George Ivanisevic on an e-bike, reaching the summit at 01:00:10.

Ten seconds. That’s all that stood between a blistering ride and a sub-hour ascent.

Last year, one rider decided to do things… a little differently 😅

Meet Willie Du Plessis — the only rider brave (or bold?) enough to take on Sani Pass TT on a single speed.

No bailout gears. No easy spinning. Just pure grit all the way up.

Unsurprisingly, Willie ended up in a category of his own — because honestly, who else would even try that? It’s a seriously tough ask on a route that already pushes even the strongest riders to their limits. And yet… he got it done 👏
