Today is the day! Our runners are ready, the beer is on the ice and the brewer is ready!

Here's your mission:
Step 1: Complete the 1km route around Randpark Golf Club.
Step 2: Head to the tasting station.
Step 3: Sample your beer.
Step 4: Repeat three more times.
Step 5: Finish your last 1km route
Step 6: Put your taste buds to the test and identify what you've sampled during the race.

Some races end when you cross the finish line but the Knysna Extreme Triathlon will stay with you long after that.

This race tests far more than your fitness, and although it is set against the backdrop of the Garden route, its beauty should not be confused with ease.

The Knysna extreme demands planning, commitment and a willingness to see just how far you are prepared to goal. It’s one of those Bucket List Races and a goal worthy of completing.

If you got your tickets on time, here is a sweet deal you don’t want to miss!

Early Registration will take place at TROISPORT (2XU) this Friday and Saturday:
📍 Merrow Down Plaza, Troupant Avenue, Magaliesview
• Friday 26 June: 09h00 - 17h00
• Saturday 27 June: 09h00 - 12h00

All participants who register early will receive an exclusive 50% discount on selected 2XU running shorts and running tees for both men and women exclusive to the day you register (no later purchases).

If you still prefer to register on race day, no problem. Registration will open at 05h30 at the event venue.

Most races ask how fast you can run.

The Van Gaalen Backyard Ultra asks a different question: How many laps can you do?

Runners complete a 6.706km loop every hour, on the hour. Finish the loop within the hour and you earn your place on the next lap. Miss the cut off and you're out. .

Simple format.
Brutal reality.

The race continues until only one runner remains.

Let's talk about the one question everyone asks in this cold...
"Surely wetsuits are allowed?"

Nope.
Not at the Polar Bear Swim.

On 21 June, swimmers will take on the water exactly as intended. No wetsuits. No shortcuts. Just you, the water and a lot of courage.

The shortest day of the year paired with cold water will be ensuring a challenge you'll be talking about long after winter is over.

The real question is: Could you do it?
