PARKING

Please do NOT park in Cows Corner. There is ample parking in Doorly, De Stades and Seaview Roads.

Under the "Jesus Loves You" sign, please park carefully and in neat rows, as we have been given permission to utilize this private land.

We are looking to maintain parking for the local businesses clear for their use... we are fit and healthy, after all, and enjoy an Easter Saturday stroll (after a Boerie roll).

Its that time of the year again!EASTER fun with the Three Legged Pig. We will be spporting the Festival of Running with great music, good food and awesome vibes. Dont forget our specials that we will be running on Saturday while stocks last. Come and support the runners from far and near while enjoying the serenity of country living.

TRAINING RUN DETAILS 🏃‍♂️🏃‍♀️

While we're all looking forward to Easter Weekend, here are the details for our training runs (see previous post for clarification):

📅 Date: Easter Saturday, 4 April 2026

⏰ Start Times:
• 42.2km – 12:00
• 21.1km – 14:30
• 5km & 10km – 15:00

All runners to be off the roads by 18:00 (before sunset).

💧 Plastic-Free Initiative
We encourage you to join us in being plastic-free. Water stations will be available for filling cups, refilling bottles, or topping up hydration packs.

⚠️ Safety First
As with any run, your safety is your responsibility: especially during a training run. Please:
• Run in single file, facing oncoming traffic
• Wear bright, visible clothing
• Stay aware of your surroundings
• Smile and have fun! 😊

IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT

It is with sincere disappointment that we share this update.

Xcel Athletics wishes to advise that the 2026 Festival of Running NMB will be downgraded. Regrettably, the event’s League and Comrades Qualification status has been revoked by EPA.

Over the past few years, we have made every effort to engage constructively with EPA regarding our vision for this event. While we remain committed to open communication, we have unfortunately found it challenging to achieve the alignment needed for this year’s edition. Despite submitting our documentation early, we are still awaiting approval of our official entry form, and have been advised of potential sanctions due to entries being open. We have once again requested a meeting with EPA to ensure clearer alignment for 2027 and beyond.

We believe that clear, timely communication benefits everyone: organizers, participants, and the sport as a whole. We respectfully encourage all stakeholders to work toward that shared goal.

What this means for 2026:
All events will now be Training Runs. There will be no timing provided and no formal support, though voluntary water tables will be available (please let us know if you would like to contribute).

For those already entered:
Full refunds will be issued to those who request. Please DM us. An email will also be sent out.

We remain grateful for your support and look forward to welcoming you for your favorite, licensed Comrades training run in Nelson Mandela Bay next year.
