Event Description:
The Cedara Classic (previously the Subaru Classic), will be taking place at Cedara College on Sunday 21 February 2016. This venue has served as a highlight on the mountain biking calender for many years and will continue to do so in 2016. With this being the only mountain biking classic taking place at Cedara College it will provide riders with a unique venue and route. Along w
ith great riding athletes will enjoy a venue that is spacious, easy to access, well maintained facilities and top quality vendors. The race distances will be a 40km, 20km and 10km with the option of a 40km Enduro, 40km Club Challenge and 20km Schools Challenge. Route Description
There will be a good balance of single track, technical riding and access roads allowing for adequate opportunities to overtake. The trails in and around Cedara College have always been enjoyed by participants and the trails are appealing to all levels of riders. It will challenge the experienced rider but will not deter the beginner rider. Trail builder, and race director, Nick Floros will be adding new trails to the various routes with some exciting elements coming into this authentic mountain bike classic. Basic route maps will be released ahead of the event. Race Descriptions
40km - This race will be a 40m classic, it will be a single loop of 40km from start to finish.
40km Enduro - This race will take place on the same 40km loop as the 40km classic but you will only be timed on specific descending sections of trail. This mean that you will not be timed for moving from one timed section to the next, you will only need to ride flat out for the timed sections.
40km Club Challenge - Any club wanting to enter a team needs 10 riders, clubs may enter multiple teams of 10. Results will be based on the accumulated time of all 10 riders in the team. Note - riders do not have to cross the finish line together but all 10 team members' times will count towards the overall result.
20km - This race will be a 20km half classic, it will be a single loop of 20km from start to finish.
20km Schools Challenge - Any school wanting to enter a team needs 10 riders, schools may enter multiple teams of 10. Note - riders do not have to cross the finish line together but all 10 team members' times will count towards the overall result. Other Information
All finishers will receive medals
There will be food and beverage vendors at the venue
A chill area will be available to all participants and spectators

Travel on the N3 highway towards Johannesburg
Take Exit 96 (Cedara) / 270m
Turn right onto the Cedara Road (R103) / 850m
Turn left and go for 1.7km
Turn right into Cedara College
