As Netflix celebrates 10 years in South Africa this September, the celebrations come with even more to look forward to new local productions, exciting partnerships and fresh opportunities for South African creatives to tell stories that can reach audiences far beyond our borders. Netflix has showcased more than 300 South African titles since launching here in 2016, and the next chapter is already looking BIG! 🇿🇦✨

FAREWELL, THE KING OF HORSES 🕊️🐎💔

Yesterday, we said our final goodbye to Enos Mafokate, affectionately known as “Kgosi Ya Dipere : The King of Horses.” As he was laid to rest, we were reminded that while a life may come to an end, a legacy does not have to.

Enos was more than a pioneering equestrian. He was a barrier-breaker, mentor, teacher and visionary who opened doors in a sport where people who looked like him were once denied the opportunity to compete. He went on to establish the Soweto Equestrian Foundation, creating opportunities for young people while championing the welfare of horses.

To the Mafokate family, thank you for sharing Enos with the world. Thank you for allowing us to witness the life of a man whose passion became a pathway for so many others. ❤️

Our deepest prayers go to his family, friends, students, the equestrian community and every young person whose life was touched by him. May the Lord comfort you, strengthen you and carry you through this difficult season. 🙏🏿🕊️

And now, it is up to us. May we never allow the work Enos started to fade. May we continue to support the Soweto Equestrian Centre nurture the young riders he believed in, care for the horses he loved and keep opening the doors he fought so hard to open. 🐎❤️

Enos Mafokate may be gone, but he will NOT be forgotten. His legacy must live on.

Rest peacefully, King of Horses. 🕊️🐎
May your work continue to speak long after your voice has fallen silent.
