The Cellardoor opened it's doors in 2005 at the famous Horror Cafe in Newtown. Started by Martin Thomas, who up until then had been resident DJ at the Red Room, and Marc Latilla, prominent DJ on the scene for many years.In August 2007, The Cellardoor moved to it's current premises, CCHQ, surely the most awe-inspiring venue this country has ever seen.Martin had been joined by Ian Moran to help prom

ote the club, and to add his impressive CV to the line up of name DJ's that had graced the club. Ian introduced Le Club to Northern Soul, Mod Lifestyle and generally a touch of class way back in 1987.The Cellardoor has become famous for our Thursday nights, which have seen some of South Africa's top bands grace our stage (The Black Hotels, Zebra and Giraffe, The Dirty Skirts and more have all played at The Cellardoor). Our Thursday nights have become INfamous for getting our patrons into trouble at work the next day for either arriving slightly worse for wear, or indeed, not arriving at all.2011 see's the Cellardoor taking it to the next level, with exciting day festivals to be announced, more theme parties, and a clothing line.
