Transporting large process equipment is just as essential as the engineering of the equipment itself.

This SO₂ storage tank with integrated access platform was manufactured from SAF 2205 duplex stainless steel for a paper and pulp application and transported as a single assembled unit to reduce site work and installation time.

That choice required careful planning. Lifting points, restraints and temporary supports were designed to protect the pressure boundary, maintain alignment and manage transport loads without distortion.
Around three months of engineering and fabrication went into ensuring the equipment arrived on site ready to install and ready to perform.

These carbon steel bed frames were manufactured for the sugar industry as part of an ongoing cross-border supply contract. Each frame is produced using controlled, repeatable fabrication processes to ensure consistent tolerances across every unit.

All fittings are laser and high-definition plasma cut for accuracy. Frames are assembled on dedicated jigs to control dimensional consistency, then welded on rotating jigs to improve weld quality, access and efficiency. The result is predictable fit-up, repeatable quality and reliable performance, unit after unit.

We’re proud to support clients well beyond South Africa’s borders.

One of our recent international projects involved designing and building two high-pressure air intercoolers for MAN Energy Solutions, destined for the ORYX GTL refinery in Qatar.

Our team completed the full review, thermal design and mechanical design of the 110-CC-101/201 MAC Intercooler heat exchangers, followed by complete fabrication at our facility in KwaZulu Natal.

The replacement units incorporated several industry firsts. A key advancement was the full containment of the tube bundle within the outer shell, which eliminated the air leakage issues seen in the original equipment.

We also welded and expanded copper-nickel tubes into custom tube sheets produced from copper-nickel explosion bonded to carbon steel. This required precise welding procedures, strict heat input control and the development of a unique sealing arrangement engineered for long-term performance under extremely high pressures.

Energy from waste is a big part of how pulp and paper plants stay running, and this recent project plays a small but important role in that cycle.

This biomass screw conveyor was built for a recovery boiler system, where it feeds bark and other non-usable material into a hopper before the fuel enters the boiler to generate energy for the plant.

The unit is manufactured using a combination of materials selected for durability and corrosion resistance. Carbon steel stiffening ribs provide the structural backbone, while the trough is fabricated from 304 stainless steel to perform reliably in the operating environment.

Our team completed the full refurbishment of 21 carbon steel resin vessels for a client in the sugar industry.

The project included internal and external sandblasting, full inspection of the welding, stud and base plate replacement, dimensional matching, and hydro testing—followed by epoxy coating and the addition of new SAF2205 covers.

Each vessel was recertified by our design engineer and returned to the client ready for service.

Another example of how we combine technical skill with quality control to restore performance and extend equipment life.
