Softball action returns to Seshego diamonds
AFTER three weeks in recess, Limpopo Softball Association (LSA) Major League returns to action this Sunday for a jam-packed second round fixture program that has all the hallmarks of a swashbuckling sporting extravaganza.
Pitch-off for these games is at 10h00.
Like other provincial leagues, LSA had to pause their weekly fixtures as the nation was in a frenzy of the National Provincial Championships that were annexed by Limpopo a fortnight ago at Red Sox diamonds in Kempton Park.
The day’s action commences with a top-of-the-table encounter between high-riding Naledi Spiders and Moletlane Texas, a match that promises to be a scintillating affair.
Meanwhile, Seshego Raiders will be on the redemption campaign when they trade bats with Mahwelereng Spikes who are precariously languishing at the bottom of the log standings.
Raiders, who were once at the summit, dropped valuable points when they failed to honour their two league games at Polokwane Cricket Grounds, needlessly forfeiting six valuable points and a further loss and a draw on home turf.
Spikes will have a field day they trade bats against Mankweng Pionners around noon, a game The Snakes cannot afford to lose.
Seshego Cannons have been thrown a lifeline to impress their home fans when they welcome surprise package in Motlolo Roots and Mamaolo Rebels.
Spectators will have plenty to cheer when Texas lock horns with Lebowakgomo Wild Beasts in a Lepelle-Nkumpi derby in the afternoon.
Although Wild Beasts have slightly lost their historic luster, there are national players in their squad who can produce fireworks both in the fielding and batting lineups.
