Eskom Expo District Expos are not competitions. They are feedback and support sessions where learners have one-on-one discussions with judges, mentors, Regional Science Fair Directors and Provincial Coordinators to strengthen their research projects. District Expos are the first compulsory level of participation in the Eskom Expo journey.

Congratulations to Rudra Patel from UJ Academy Maths, Science & ICT School of Specialisation in Johannesburg, who will represent South Africa at the prestigious Regeneron International Science and Engineering Fair (ISEF) from 9 to 15 May 2026 in Phoenix, Arizona, USA.

Rudra will showcase his research project titled “Predictive AI-Based Genomic Optimisation of Donor Pig Livers for Human Xenotransplant Compatibility.” His work explores how artificial intelligence can improve organ transplantation compatibility, contributing to more efficient and accessible healthcare solutions.

We wish Rudra all the best as he competes alongside leading young scientists from around the world.
