Free onsite parking, refreshments, facilities. Raises money for local good causes.

*** Important message from Race Director - race postponed ***

I am sorry to have to advise you that the D'Urberville Dash 10k on 23rd July 2023 has had to be postponed due to unforeseen circumstances.

We have already lost volunteer race helpers who will be employed by Camp Bestival, and there are warnings about increased heavy lorries on the road we use. We therefore now plan to hold the race on Sunday 15th October 2023 and will automatically transfer you to this date free of charge. If you wish to withdraw however, please advise me via [email protected] with your name and address, and a refund cheque will be provided asap.

Congratulations to everyone who completed the d'Urberville Dash today!

And a big, heartfelt thank you to Bob Panter for creating this race back in 2011 and all his hard work and enthusiasm since😃

Our volunteers were also stars today and we thank them all!

It's D'Urberville Dash Eve!

We're sorry there will be no entries on the day but all those already entered can collect race numbers from 0830hrs in the D'Urberville Centre.

Please park on the field next to the Centre (not on village roads) and as it's a cupless race, please bring a cup for water.

Weather looks fine and we can't wait to see you!

Things are heating up at Race HQ too! Due to number of entries and anticipated queries (given two years of cancellations/deferrals etc) it is likely that the race will close early and there will be no entries on the day. We will update next week but please enter soon to guarantee your place...

Thank you to everyone who has been so understanding about our need to cancel. We have tried very hard to contact everyone via Fullonsport email, Egdon Heath Harriers entry system and responded to messages via this page and by other means.

Many of you will by now have received an email explaining that with huge regret this year's D'Urberville Dash 10k is having to be cancelled.

The reason for cancellation is a recent and totally unforeseeable loss of access to part of the course. So close to the race, this has made organising a safe alternative route impossible.

Fullonsport have been asked to close entries but it appears they may still be open at this time. Please spread the word if you know of anyone hoping to enter.

Please message via this page if you believe you were entered in this year's event but have not received an email by tomorrow.

IMPORTANT UPDATE

We are really looking forward to seeing you all on the 25th! In order to ensure a fun, safe event however, particularly with the ongoing uncertainty around Covid restrictions, we're having to make a few changes this year.

There will be NO on-the-day entries so please enter as soon as possible. Online entries are likely to close on 19th July but may close earlier, depending on numbers. Any updates will be here.

Use of the building will be for toilet access only so unfortunately no showers/changing facilities or bag drop.

Please arrive race-ready with pockets for keys, and leave extra stuff in cars parked on the field. If you are really stuck for key storage, we will take them for safekeeping when you collect race numbers but please avoid this if you can to reduce queueing. (If you will be using public transport and can't leave your gear in a friend's car, please message us and we will help).

Race number collection, refreshments etc will take place on the covered veranda outside. Regretfully, a formal presentation will not take place but results will be online as soon as possible and trophies will be distributed to winners after the event.

Any further information will be here so please share, and all those entered will receive an email prior to the event.

Things may be a bit different this year, but with the same great runners and volunteers, we're looking forward to another great event! 😃
