09/25/2024

Before I begin with the tournament recap on behalf of myself, Robin Packo, Nikki Packo-Rockwell and of course Bernie Packo we would like to say "THANKS" to all on both the Senior Amateur Golf Tour -Jacksonville Florida & Coastal Georgia Senior Amateur Golf Tour for making 2024 such an enjoyable season that offered some great golf experiences accompanied by many laughs. Plans for 2025 are already being firmed up starting with the 2025 Season Opening "Trifecta" in Sea Island Resorts Georgia.
Not to delay though the season finale was played over two days at the Hammock Beach Golf Resort & Spa on their Conservatory Course for day one followed by the final round on the beautiful Ocean Course. As it has been in the past, we had a full field with members visiting from other tours to compete for payouts that rival some of the Senior Regionals. Day One got started with a 2:00 p.m. shotgun start for the field of 99 players. Without a doubt we could not have asked for a nicer day weather-wise with the Conservatory course once again exceeding our expectations. To go along with the surrounding the play was extremely impressive not to mention the first carts back to the barn were in about 4 1/2 hours. As we had hoped for, everyone was in their cars by 7 p.m. heading back to the resort and getting ready for the day two 8:30 a.m. start on the Ocean Course.
The Champ Flight got things rolling as Charles Kirk , Brian King and first year member Eric M Bruns came to play. Between the three of them they had 10 birdies for the round. Chuck took the overnight lead with a round of 73 while Brian King carded a 74 followed by Eric Bruns round of 75. Each took turns scrambling the leaderboard throughout the round. We also had four players tied for fourth five shots back which keeps the leaders looking over their shoulders come day two. Day two on what is the tougher course saw Chuck Kirk and Brian King bring their "A" games and finish the 36 holes tied with a total score of 142 for the two days. Back out they went for a playoff which was won by Chuck. Nonetheless the Jax and Coastal Senior Champ Flight group as they have done all year always seem to serve up come down to the wire finishes. Kudos to Chuck and Brian for their rounds of 69 and 68 respectively.
"A" Flight was another dogfight as the Jax Seniors controlled the leaderboard with one exception. Steve Evans ( Coastal) made the trip down from Hilton Head and made sure to bring his "A" Game with him. While the leaderboard for day one saw Robin Gomez, Bob Rand, Steve and Stockton Rogers all within one or two strokes of one another just lurking were four members four strokes back. The storyline for day two was set whoever was able to handle the ocean breezes would have the best shot at claiming the top prize. On this day it was Steve Evans who carded an even par 72. Steve by the way stayed after round one and worked on his putting for a little bit. Bob Rand and Robin Gomez finished second and third respectively with Stockton Rogers, John Brendel and Brad Swanson in the conversation for the round.
As live score was updated for "B" Flight during the round one the buzz around the course was the round Paul Stokes was turning in. A round of 73 was carded for the afternoon which gave him a 4-shot lead going into day two as Brian Villarreal ( Coastal) put up a 77 and Paul Guy ( Coastal) carding an 80. A subplot to the B Flight was both Brian and Paul Guy were battling for the season's top spot in "B" Flight for Coastal Ga. I assure you both came to play as well as others who were battling for the 2024 Flight Champions Trophy for both tours. Needless to say, "B" Flight for both tours came down to the season finale outcome. But no one can deny that Paul Stokes turned in the round of the year in "B" Flight. Sleeping on the lead may have been a little tough as he knew everyone was going to come out pin seeking. He was right as Brian Villarreal shot a 79 to get within one of the top spot as Paul backed up his day one score with a round of 82, securing the victory. Paul by the way was not only a winner on the course but prior to the start of round two his name was drawn as the winner of the day two Len Mattiace Foundation 50\50 drawing. I would be remiss not to mention, along with Paul and Brian, others who turned in fine performances over the two days. Steve Stephen Taylor, Keith Padgett, Herb Boasso , Mike Fryer , Paul Guy , Richard McGovern and Jarrett Matve all turned in solid performances for the finale and on any other day would have been sniffing the top spot if it were not for the rounds Paul and Brian turned in over the two days.
"C" Flight brought us a new addition to the Tournament of Champions as Raymond Conner secured a two-stroke victory over fellow Coastal Ga. member Ronnie Henderson. Both gentlemen played solid golf over the two days battling Jax members Seth Corneal , Charles V. Clements and Shannon Sonnier who themselves carded great day one rounds. Looking over the final results one will notice Steve Whitlock and Dino Miliucci also had a good two days as they could be found atop the leaderboard. Congrats to Shannon for securing the top spot in "C" Flight for 2024 for Jax along with winning the Day One Len Mattiace Foundation 50/50 drawing.
"D" Flight saw Patrick LaPage take home his second winner's trophy this year. After recently winning at Amelia River Patrick knew what needed to be done on Day Two. Good thing he kept grinding as Paul Baker ( Coastal) and Mo Kingbird ( Coastal) were waiting for an opening carding solid round themselves. His two-day total ( 182) was good enough for a two-stroke victory. Kudos to Paul and Mo along with Bill Hutchison and Marcy Reman who all turned in solid performances on two of the harder courses we play throughout the year.
Well, the regular season is in the books and it is now onto our second season. The Tournament of Champions will be held this Saturday at Eagle Harbor with an 8:30 a.m. shotgun. 80 members qualified during the course of the season. Immediately following the round, we will visit our sponsor Southern Social Whiskey Bar and Lounge for a buffet lunch while we prepare to announce the Champion of Champions along with our 2024 Flight Champions for both Jax and Coastal tours. All told we anticipate about 11,000 dollars in prize monies to be distributed.

The next big event is the Senior Am Tour Nationals to be held on October 23/24th in Hilton Head S.C. Registration is open and if you have at least four qualifying tournaments and have interest in joining us in HH go to https://www.senioramateurgolftour.net/tour_championship/24%20payment%20page.asp and sign up. At last count between Jax and Coastal we have 45+ members heading north to represent our tours against others from around the country.
The 2025 Schedules are almost complete so be on the lookout for a sneak peek email in the next few weeks. We may just outdo ourselves again!!!!
As usual until next time Stay Safe and Stay Strong!!!! Bernie and Mike

09/14/2024

Good morning! Once again, we were extremely fortunate to skirt the rain storms and complete to rounds at two great tracts last weekend. This recap may sound a little different than those past recaps mainly because these were the final one-day events for both Senior Amateur Golf Tour -Jacksonville Florida and Coastal Georgia Senior Amateur Golf Tour for the 2024 season. What a season it has been and one that we all can be proud of. The two tours together had membership of 280 players, a great milestone. We also were able to host in excess of 35 tournament days which produced 79 flight and or net game champions for the season. The 2nd annual Tournament of Champions Sponsored by Matt Lanier, owner of Southern Social Whiskey Bar and Lounge should be a good one.
More importantly, along with seeing some great golf we saw many new members fit right in with our tour veterans and form some great friendships. It was also nice to see players pulling for one another . Our elder statesmen Bill Hutchison, Wayne Brandt and Fred Turner always have their following rooting them on. This past weekend we saw Bill record a second-place finish at The Amelia River Club while Wayne Brandt placed in the net game. The husband-and-wife team of Jose and Janice Ramirez posted a second and third place in their respective flights at Amelia River. We witnessed Brian King catch fire on his way to shooting 6 under 66 for the top spot in Champ Flight. While Keith Padgett who returned from a short break to heal up his shoulder, he posted a 73 in "B" Flight. Mark Odekirk ( 76) and Noel Dawkins (79) on any other day would have been right there for the top spot but kept the pressure on Keith. "C" Flight saw Cory Donahue find his game and card a 77 taking home the trophy. Great to see Cory back on track after enduring some bumpy rounds this season. Charles V. Clements added to what has been a solid year with a second-place finish firing a 78 while Janice Ramirez took third with a round of 81.
"D" Flight provided us with yet another first-time winner and TOC Invitee. Patrick LaPage put together his finest round as a member of the Senior Tour with a rock solid 81. I, along with everyone else, could not be happier for Patrick as he has worked hard to improve his golf game. Plus, he is a lot of fun to be around.
"A" Flight saw Stockton Rogers capture the trophy with another solid performance carding a 74. Stockton has had a great season in 2024 and hopefully it carries over to Nationals where he and a few "A" Flight members plan on representing Jax.
Coastal Ga. ended their single day events at Kinderlou Forest Golf Club. Always a favorite we once again got treated to some great rounds on what is one of our more difficult stops. The day brought us two new flight winners as Joe Klaas (A) and Mark Collins (B) punched their ticket to the tournament of champions. Again, couldn't be happier for these two gentlemen as they have been close in the past but now, they got to hoist the trophy. We also got to welcome Chad Friedmann (D) to the TOC list as he captured the top spot in the Net Game. Joe carded a 73 for the round while Mark Collins recorded a 79 and Chad shot a 91 which was also good enough for 3rd place in "D" Flight.
I would be remiss not to mention multiple winner David Fly taking the top spot in "D" Flight while Joe McGaha now a Nashville member, securing the top spot in "C" Flight with an 86. Champ Flight once again saw Richard Ames take the top spot with a 74. Richard was happy to win but he was ecstatic that his buddy Joe Klaas won his first event since being a Jax tour member.
Seeing the smiles and hearing the laughs throughout the year is what creates lasting memories. While our tours have combined 280 members each and every member hopefully will have taken away a little something from the 2024 season that will put a smile on their face when they look back on the year.
Now we wrap up the season with a two-day major which will be a combo event at the Hammock Beach Resort. For those visiting for the first time you are in for a treat. Two great courses with some beautiful scenery along with some challenging golf. And I have a sneaky suspicion that many of the flight winners will be determined at the conclusion of the event.
Before ending I have to say a special Thanks to our sponsors for the last two events. Buddy Holwell with Olive Amelia a longtime sponsor and Glenn Bennett with Bennett Power Supply/ Dixie Choppers. They along with all our 2024 sponsors have helped make the 2024 campaign a successful one. On behalf of all our members a "BIG THANK YOU"!!!!

08/27/2024

Good afternoon and hope your week is starting off on the right foot. This past weekend we visited the King and Prince GC in Brunswick for a combo event for Senior Amateur Golf Tour -Jacksonville Florida and Coastal Georgia Senior Amateur Golf Tour.
This event was sponsored by our very own Nikki Packo-Rockwell with Rohill Insurance. Please contact Nikki for all your insurance needs. I myself can vouch for her as she has saved me quite a bit with all my premiums for various insurances.
So off we went for the 9 a.m. shotgun and for many their first visit to the The King and Prince Golf Club. I am pretty sure members were pleased with the course and its layout. Looks to be a great choice to open the 2025 season there and then proceed onto the Sea Island courses for a two-day event for Coastal and Jax. Based on the feedback from some of the members I feel the 2025 season will once again be well attended so be on the lookout for future information in late October.
The King and Prince did not disappoint as we crowned some new flight champions and as you would expect needed playoffs in two flights to determine the top spots.
Champ Flight started us off as Richard Ames who has won many club tournaments over the past month or two, showed he has not missed a beat firing a 71 on the day. He was able to hold off his buddy Ken Arsenault who never backed off throughout the round. Tied for third was Kevin Conway who was fighting through a sore back and Bryan Benton whose group could be heard cheering on one another as the round progressed. With 10 plus participating in the Champ Flight you could see the competitive juices flowing albeit in the spirit of the gentlemen's game.
"A" Flight saw Michael Turner who arrived minutes before the scheduled tee times due to 95N being shut down and needed 3 or 4 holes to settle down. Once he did, he proceeded to record a round of 73 and take home the crystal. Mike who started the year off in "B" Flight just keeps on rolling them and turning in solid rounds. Kevin Smith took second with a 76 and he too has seen his scores continue to improve. I expect him to hoist the trophy in the not to distance future. Brad Swanson and Bob Harper tied at 77 but when you look through the 17 members who competed on Sunday on any given day anyone of them can capture the top spot.
"B" Flight saw Herb Boasso get back to his winning ways. Herb has battled back from some early season medical issues and once gain finds his way into the heat of the battle. On Sunday a round of 76 was good enough to capture first in "B" Flight . He also climbed to second in the points race with a couple of good events to come that may determine the ultimate flight champion. Rickie Croy as has been the story all year, was in the hunt once again firing a 77 to tie with Paul Rivers, Richard McGovern and Daryl Gardner. Now with solid play comes promotions and both Rickie Croy and Daryl Gardner both received flight promotions. Rickie new before departing the course on Sunday and Darryl for his fine outing won the Net Game and will be added to TOC list for September 28th.
"C" Flight needed a playoff to determine the final outcome. Shannon Sonnier who has been on fire as of late, went toe to toe with Mike Denaro as both ended their rounds with 83's. Out they went for a playoff under the supervision of Paul Stokes and Mo Kingbird. Mike was able to secure the win and was showered with praise. Not sure if next time we allow Paul and Mo go out there unsupervised. Nolan Martin took the third spot as he too has been recording some solid rounds over the last two months. Christer Unnermark again was in the conversation as he sported a beautiful golf shirt. Christer and Shannon are separated by 20 points in the points race and in all likelihood be paired together at Amelia River if they so decide to play. For his efforts Mike while he got none of the winnings ( went straight to his wife) did earn a spot at the TOCs on September 28th.
"D" Flight produced another playoff between Mark Simons, David Fly and Joe Peny. Steve Steven Ozgowicz and Jim Davis were one stroke away from joining in the playoff. In the end Mark captured another victory this season. Great way to return to action after a little layoff. All three playoff players have earned victories this season and better yet Joe Peny won the Srixon raffle at TPC, won the regional event and on Sunday won the Len Mattiace Foundation 50/50 raffle. Not a bad stretch I have to say!!!
We have just three events to go ( Amelia River) Jax and Kinderlou ( Coastal) plus the finale at Hammock Beach resort ( two-day Combo). Players will be vying for a lot over the next couple of weeks such as getting into the top 20 on the points race to qualify for Nationals, 1st, 2nd or 3rd in the Flights point races which earns free entry to Nationals for the top spot, free entry for a one day season opener event ( King and Prince) and free membership for the 2025 season.
Also, we have a possibility of adding 18 new names to the TOC's list . All in all, as the season winds down I recommend each of you check the points race and know there are still points out there that can change the season points race outcome.
Registration for Amelia River is open for a September 7th shotgun ( 8:30 a.m.) with 72 spots reserved and Kinderlou on September 8th with 60 spots reserved. Remember these are not combo events so make sure you can receive points for these events.
We will then end what has been a great season with a two-day major ( combo event) at the beautiful Hammock Beach Resort. I am pretty sure this will be a sell-out as players come from other tours to participate. So please don't hesitate to sign up as soon as you know you will be joining us on September 21st and 22nd in Palm Coast.
See Everyone Soon and Thanks for Supporting
Jax and Coastal Senior Tours

08/13/2024

The TPC Regional, Hosted by the Senior Amateur Golf Tour -Jacksonville Florida, is in the books and I must say we were lucky to escape the heavy rains experienced with Tropical Storm Debby that the Southeast experienced. Except for a short late shower on Saturday, we were able to complete all rounds. Now I won't say that we avoided the deep rough we saw on the Dye course during the first day or for that matter the heat. But all in all, we were fortunate to play on one of the top courses in America.
Before I provide a recap, I would like to say "thanks" to all those who participated in this weekend's event. Not only did we get to play a great venue but we also got to meet members from all across the country. As hard as the courses played, they did not dampen the laughs I overheard before and after the rounds.
Now on to the recap and as one may expect we had a little bit of everything over the two days. Day One saw some great rounds and some not so great. For those that had solid rounds they learned very quickly how things could change on the Stadium course on Day Two.
In Champ Flight we saw Randy Ponthie ( La.) start off his round on fire. Jumping out to a sizeable lead he knew as well as anyone that there would be plenty of Champ Flight members who would catch fire themselves and close the gap. John Lundgren ( Jax) was one of those players and he inched his way back on day two hole by hole until the end finding himself and Randy tied atop the leaderboard. Before the headed back out for a playoff they had to wait until Bryan Benton ( Jax) completed his round since he had made his move up the leaderboard during round two. In the end Randy and John made their way out to the course for a playoff. While Randy came out on top it was great to see him and John together in the lounge after the round. Both they along with all the Champ Flight guys deserve a round of applause for taking on probably the toughest tract they will have played on this season. Greg Cornell (Ark) along with Trey Coker ( La.) bounced up and down the leaderboard with solid outing for the tournament. Champ flight had Senior Tour members from Jax, Louisiana, Charleston and Arkansas.
"A" Flight was another hotly contested flight but hat's off to Stockton Rogers (Jax) for two solid rounds atop the leaderboard. He knew he could not take any holes off as David Kolster (Jax) , Chris Ludwig (CC) and Ken Eichele (CC) did not let up in grinding out solid rounds over the two days. The 20 or so players in "A" Flight represented Jax, Central Carolina, Arkansas, Michigan, Coastal, Arizona, Dallas, Orlando and Charleston. Mark Goodwin ( Arizona) came the furthest for the second time this year as he also played the season kickoff in Sea Island. He also happened to visit family so he too is a winner getting to spend time with family and playing the top TPC course in the U.S. Steve Waite (Jax) carded Day One's best score with a 74 while Dave Kolster , John Ciccone (Mi) and Bruce Ford ( Jax) carded 79's on Day Two.
"B" Flight saw another Louisiana member take the top spot. Steven Vaughn won by three strokes over Steven Williamson (Char) and a little more breathing room over Stu Kambury ( Dallas), Robert Henneman (Charleston) and Rich McGovern (Jax). Steven carded the best round on day one with an 81. Once again it was a story of two different rounds each day as those who were around the top of the leaderboard on day one fell back a little and those who struggled on day one made a charge on day two. Paul Stokes ( Jax) our tournament sponsor was one of those who flew up the leaderboard and made a valent effort to get above the cutline. As always Paul was there cheering on his fellow Jax Members and congratulating all the winners. A BIG THANKS to Paul and his company for helping us make this a special event.
"C" Flight was another flight that didn't disappoint as Shannon Sonnier and Christer Unnermark both Jax members had to wait on Mj Michael J. Moore ( Orl) to see if it was going to be a two- or three-man playoff. Just as Shannon and Christer were about to depart for the 1st playoff hole the lightning horn went off which resulted in about a thirty-minute delay. Out they went and when they returned Shannon was able to claim his first regional victory. Between him and Christer you couldn't ask for two nicer guys competing for the top spot and both worthy of winning going head-to-head. Hat's off to all the "C" Flight competitors as some fine rounds were turned in over the course of two days.
"D" Flight saw Coastal Ga. member Joe Peny garner the top spot firing 92 each day to secure a three-stroke victory. Joe not only won on the course but he also won the Srixon Irons drawing. Coming in second with a solid two-day score was Julie Johnson ( Charleston) who also could be found spending her gift card winnings on some TPC pro shop items. Ronnie Collier ( Alabama) and Robert Kowalski ( Orl) tied for 3rd. Shep Ellis ( Orl) followed by Jonathan Luca, Glenn Bennett , Jim Rutherford ( Nashville) , Hal Yates and Jim Davis carried the Jax Flag high and proud over the two days.
Special guest Len Mattiace visited with players both days and extended a heartfelt thanks to all Senior Tour members for the support they have showed the Len Mattiace Foundation not only over the weekend but throughout the season both past and present.
We also were able to announce our Len Mattiace Referral Challenge Winners. Getting to play TPC will be Rickie Croy ( Coastal) and for the 2nd year Brad Swanson ( Jax). Winners for free entry to The Final two day at Hammock Beach are Paul Guy ( Coastal) and Dino Miliucci ( Jax). The final winners for free entry to the upcoming King and Prince tournament are Jonathon Luca ( Jax) and Mike Lansdell ( Coastal). Congrats !!!
As a FYI the famed Island Green ( 17th) at the stadium course had a 4.25 scoring average and yielded 5 birdies on the day!!!
Also wanted to say Thanks to Louisiana Senior Tour Director Trey Coker for attending with your tour buddies and hope you enjoyed the event as well as having two of your members bring home the crystal!!!
Many who played this weekend will see us next at Nationals where we will once again be vying for the Team Trophy!! Registration is not far off so start making your plans.
King and Prince Combo event is now open with 80 spots available. Don't hesitate and sign up today. Till next time be safe and Hit Them Straight!!! Bernie Packo and Mike Michael Greene

What a weekend of Golf!!! The Coastal Georgia Senior Amateur Golf Tour and Senior Amateur Golf Tour -Jacksonville Flori...
07/09/2024

What a weekend of Golf!!! The Coastal Georgia Senior Amateur Golf Tour and Senior Amateur Golf Tour -Jacksonville Florida visited two great venues on Saturday and Sunday. Coastal hosted the Military/First Responders Appreciation Classic at Sanctuary Golf Club while Jax visited Candler Hills Golf Club for the Insurance Open Sponsored by the man himself Scott Roberts. While the heat index was up so was the heat of the competition in all flights for both days.
Champ Flight started it off on Saturday with a three-way playoff. Brian King, Greg Reid and Stephen Capps all carded rounds of 69 and headed back out for a playoff. 14 Birdies were recorded between the three which goes to show some great golf was played. In the end Brian King was able to capture the top spot but all three gentlemen deserve KUDOS for great rounds of golf.
"A" Flight was another that did not disappoint as again some great rounds were turned in. Brad Swansons 71 was good enough to capture the top spot while newcomer Mike Ingles carded an even round of 72. Mike has displayed some solid play over his first few events to earn a promotion to Champ Flight. Tour veteran Jim Flowers , Kevin Smith and Chris Woodard stayed in the hunt but just couldn't catch the leaders.
"B" Flight saw Jax member Dave Schrott like Brian King and Brad Swanson come visit a Coastal event and take home the hardware. Dave was in the zone as he carded a solid 75 for the afternoon. Paul Guy (77) seems to be back in the swing of things as he took second and was all smiles after the round feeling good about his game once again. Rickie Croy continues his consistent play and took third with a 78. Dave also punched his ticket to the Tournament of Champions event scheduled for Sept 28.
"C" Flight was a battle and once again we had a three-way playoff. Gene Midyette, Christer Unnermark ( Jax), and Mike Joiner ( Jax ) had to head back out to Hole number 1 for a playoff. Gene just back for his first event since surgery didn't let that stand in his way as he captured the first spot which also punched his ticket to the TOC's event. Again, all three players turned in fine rounds of 85.
"D" Flight saw another member add his name to the list for the TOC's. Mark Simons jumped out to a big lead and kept his foot on the gas all through the round, carding an 85 for the afternoon. On any other day Mo Kingbird, Carl Matlock and Jim Davis would have been right there for the top spot but Saturday was Mark's day.
Hat's off to all the members who played as it is that time of year where the heat index rises throughout the round. Good thing Mike schedules early morning shotguns as often as we do which does help!!!!
On Sunday the Jacksonville tour hosted the Robert's Insurance open at Candler Hills GC. Being the first time many of us ever visited Candler needless to say we all were very impressed. The course was pristine and the staff was phenomenal! Yes, it was another hot day but that did not stop players from bringing their "A" Game!
Champ Flight saw Bryan Benton make the trip from Sanctuary Cove and battle Kevin Conway and Stephan Jones all day long. Stephan , who received a promotion from "A" Flight earlier this year is knocking on the door in Champ Flight. Kevin became my new hero as he "HIT DRIVER OFF THE DECK" on a par 5 and ended up on the back side of the green. The downhill putt was a little slippery!!! In the end Bryan took the top spot and was happy to get inside for some cool air.
"A" Flight saw two CPA's battle it out as points leader Ed Paterniti had his hands full with Jim McArdle. They went toe to toe for 16 holes before Ed was able to get a little separation. Ed is a multiple winner this year and has been playing well all year long. He is always ready to compete each and every tournament. He was extremely complimentary of Jim's play and of course Jim as a fellow CPA. I just have to add Charles V. Clements to that group and I would definitely order an audit of their scorecard just hoping to find a mistake in addition.
"B" Flight gave us a first-time winner on the Senior Tour as Ken McGuire was able to take the top spot after a three-hole playoff with Brad Bettin Sr.. Ken was all smiles as he also won the Len Mattiace Foundation 50/50 and was also the Net Game Champ. As is his nature Ken is donating his 50/50 winnings back to the Len Mattiace Foundation. Of course, he was not going home empty handed as he also had some birdie monies to collect to go along with his gift card. Brad, a former National Champion, automatically receives an invite to the TOC's and Ken punched his ticket as a first time winner. They will be joined by Richard McGovern who is presently leading "B" Flight in the points race. He is another newcomer to the tour who has exhibited consistent play all season long.
"C" Flight came down to the wire as Christer Unnermark after finishing second the day before, was able to secure the top spot-on Sunday for his first victory of the year. He also punched his ticket to the TOCs to join the others who won on Saturday and Sunday. Christer was at the steps of the winner's circle all year long and it was nice to see him hoist the crystal. Mark Westmoland from Nashville finished one stroke back followed by John E Saskowski who returned to the field with a new knee and looked great placing third. "C" Flight always seems to have the most laughs as the former NCF crew have maintained a close relationship over the years and enjoy one another's company. Nice to see members maintaining great friendships that last for years!! With over 275 members between Jax and Coastal Mike and I get to witness friendships develop over the course of the season.
"D" Flight just added to the day as Marcy Reman turned in her best performance of the year to hold off David McGill and Jonathan Luca. Marcy was just as excited about adding her name to the TOCs list as she was claiming her first victory of the season. David has a victory already this year but watch out for Jonathon Luca at future events as he has stepped up his game. Marcy's 82 I believe is her best round since joining the tour and goes to show what hard work in honing her golf skills is now paying dividends.
Next up is the ASPYRA Two Day Senior Open at LPGA in Ormond Beach hosted by the Jax Tour. Registration is open for this event and it will be an 8 a.m. shotgun start both days. Registration is open on the Jax website. 80 spots reserved and for those keeping an eye on the points race there will be 900 points to Flight Champions which may shuffle the race up a bit!!!
Thanks to all those who joined us this weekend and for those who could not be with us, remember Sanctuary Cove and Candler Hills for next year. Great venues with an outstanding staff!!!!

Also, one last side note we would like to remind all of you about....
