LASS is a platform where females in Scotland and the UK can get involved in freestyle skiing and snowboarding. Whither thats participating as a rider, photographer, videographer, judge, volunteer or coach etc we want to get more women and girls actively participating within their scene and LASS is there to document and promote that activity. With this activity being documented 'we' IE the scene ho

pe to inspire, progress and educate women and girls within the Scottish snowsports community. To do this LASS will hold a series of "ride together" days throughout the season at Cairngorm Mountain, Nevis Range, Clencoe, Glenshee and the Lecht. These days will be aimed at women/ girls wanting to get learn and progress in freestyle skiing and snowboarding, so it doesn't matter if you've never been in the park before or already slaying frontsides on street rails we want you to come along and support each other and the scene. Snowsport Scotland have teamed up with BASI to award the "LASS Scholarship" which is to put 1 female through their level 1 UCKP Freeski or Snowboard coaching qualification to the Over18 who turns up to the stops and shows the potential to be a good coach and ambassador for freestyle coaching in Scotland and who can really give back. LASS is Snowsport Scotland's (the National Governing Body for all snowsports in Scotland) initiative and is backed by Sport Scotland, The British Association of Snowsports Instructors and Snowsports clubs around Scotland, however LASS is not dictated to by SSS and is open to all feedback and support from the snowsports community as SSS is concise that LASS is a true representation of the scene and truly reflects what especially the female participants want to see. We look forward to meeting you all on the hill and hearing how you all want to get involved! we also hope you are pleased with Snowsport Scotland's initiative to try and change the levels of girls involvement in Scottish snowsports which at the moment is very very low. Don't be shy to post up if your going to be riding somewhere and want to see if there will be any other girls riding or post up some videos that you think are rad! - Use LASS how you like. Pray for freshies -x-

Hi girls, as some of you may know Lauren our snowsports Development Officer has left post and joined the CairnGorm Mountain Ltd team! hence us being quite with our plans for the season due to staff changes...however! we will be looking to hold a LASS day at the end of the season at CairnGorm Mtn.

Aberdeen Snowsports Centre teamed up with Burton Snowboards UK to give the wee ones their first shot at snowboarding! The Burton Riglet Park went down a treat and seen 62 helmets on legs aka 3-6years olds come through in just 4hours! good work team.
