Riječ festival korijen vuče od latinskog festivus, što znači slaviti, veseliti se. Ideja za festival djece i mladeži se razvila iz želje da se često skriveni napori filmskih entuzijasta i anonimusa izvuku na svijetlo, dopru do javnosti i na taj način „proslave“. Pokrećući festival želimo pomoći pojedincima, školama i udrugama mladih koje se bave medijskom kulturom da dograbe svojih „pet minuta sla
ve“. Dubrovnik je grad festivala, grad u kojem riječi festa i festival zazivaju stoljetnu tradiciju slavljenja života. Dubrovnik slavi svog parca Sv. Vlaha, glumu, glazbu, pa zašto ne i film. Zato dođite, sudjelujte, zabavite se, a ponešto i naučite - bit će nam čast biti vam dobri domaćini!

The word festival is derived from the Latin fertivus which means to celebrate, to partake in merriment. The Idea for a youth festival arose from the desire to bring out the hidden and anonymous endeavours of the enthusiast film maker so that they may enter the public eye and in this way become known. By initiating the festival, we wish to offer a helping hand to individuals, schools and youth associations who work on media culture, to achieve their five minutes of fame. Dubrovnik is a city of festivals. It is a city in which the word festa and festival evoke an age old tradition of the celebration of life. Dubrovnik celebrates it patron Saint Blaise, drama, and music so why not then celebrate film. So come to our fair city, take part in our celebration and learn something as well – It will be our honour to be your host.
