Department of Youth Services & Sports, Zone Sogam Successfully Concludes Inter-School Zonal Level Athletics Meet

Chandigam, August 4, 2026: The Department of Youth Services & Sports, Zone Sogam, today successfully concluded the Inter-School Zonal Level Athletics Meet for Boys and Girls (All Age Groups) at BHS Chandigam.

The two-day championship witnessed enthusiastic participation from student athletes representing various government and private educational institutions across Zone Sogam. Participants competed in a wide range of track and field events, including sprints, middle-distance races, relays, long jump, high jump, shot put, discus throw, javelin throw, and other athletics disciplines. The event showcased exceptional athletic talent, discipline, determination, and the true spirit of sportsmanship.

The competitions were conducted in a well-organized and transparent manner under the supervision of the officials of the Department of Youth Services & Sports, Zone Sogam. The technical committee, ground committee, medical team, volunteers, and officials worked tirelessly to ensure the smooth and successful conduct of the championship.

The Zonal Physical Education Officer, Zone Sogam, congratulated all the participating athletes for their outstanding performances and appreciated the dedicated efforts of the organizing committee, technical officials, teachers, volunteers, and the management of BHS Chandigam for extending excellent support and cooperation throughout the event.

The winners in different age groups and disciplines have been selected to represent Zone Sogam in the forthcoming District Level Athletics Championship.

The Department of Youth Services & Sports, Zone Sogam, today organized the Inter-School Zonal Level Girls' Athletics Meet (All Age Groups) at BHS Chandigam. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from girl athletes representing various schools across the zone.

On the occasion, Assistant Convenor Mr. Showkat Ahmad Wani conducted a detailed demonstration of athletics events and briefed the participants on the rules, techniques, safety measures, and the importance of discipline and fair play. He encouraged all athletes to compete with dedication, confidence, and true sportsmanship.

The athletics meet aims to identify and nurture young sporting talent while promoting physical fitness, healthy competition, and the spirit of sports among students. Chandigam, August 3, 2026: The Department of Youth Services & Sports, Zone Sogam, today successfully organized the Inter-School Zonal Level Boys' Athletics Meet (All Age Groups) at BHS Chandigam. The event commenced with the National Anthem, followed by the Sports Pledge, creating an atmosphere of patriotism, discipline, and sportsmanship.

The athletics meet witnessed enthusiastic participation from boys representing various schools across Zone Sogam. The young athletes showcased exceptional talent, determination, and competitive spirit throughout the day in various track and field events.

The competitions featured 100m, 200m, 400m, 800m, 1600m, and 3200m races, along with field events including High Jump, Long Jump, Discus Throw, Javelin Throw, Shot Put, and other athletics disciplines. The competitions were conducted in a fair and disciplined manner under the supervision of qualified technical officials.

The event was organized under the overall supervision of Mr. Fayaz Ahmad Tantray, Zonal Physical Education Officer, Zone Sogam.

Zone Sogam Shines at District-Level Taekwondo Championship; Four Players Selected for Divisional Level

Sogam, 28 July 2026: Zone Sogam continued its impressive sporting performance by securing outstanding results in the District-Level Taekwondo Championship. Four students from BHSS Tekipora won Gold Medals, earning selection for the forthcoming Divisional-Level Taekwondo Championship.

The medal winners are:

- Afan Gani – Gold Medal
- Akash Ahmad – Gold Medal
- Asrar Ahmad Shah – Gold Medal
- Irfan Ahmad Bhat – Gold Medal

Congratulating the players on their remarkable achievement, the Zonal Physical Education Officer (ZPEO), Sogam lauded their dedication, discipline, and hard work.
