With an incoming storm and increased wet weather expected, tonight’s fireworks will be happening earlier than planned at 7:45pm. Please enjoy the show before the weather rolls in!

🎉 Today’s the day! We’re excited to farewell 2025 in style at NYE by the Lake - a free community celebration at Lake Orr, Varsity Lakes. Come down today to the Waterfront Stage on Varsity Promenade and enjoy an afternoon of family fun by the water.

A big thank you to Division 11 Councillor Dan Doran – City of Gold Coast for proudly presenting this free event for the community as we look ahead to 2026.

There is limited car parking around the venue so please use public transport or ride share if active travel is not possible. In the interest of community safety and to avoid parking infringements, please follow the City Parking Signage and Guidelines. Please do not park at Bond University as this is already allocated for students, staff and permit holders and infringement notices may apply.

✨ New Year's Eve by the Lake 2024 will feature a fireworks display to finish at approximately 8:30pm this Tuesday 31st December at Lake Orr, Varsity Lakes. Please ensure if you have any pets in the area, they are safe and secure.

If you have an anxious pet, here are some tips from the RSPCA QLD:

🏠 Keep your dog or cat indoors if possible.
🧑‍ Direct supervision is important.
👀 Close the blinds & curtains to decrease visual stimuli.
🍖 Distract with games or food.
🆔 Make sure your pet has an ID tag, & is chipped with contact details up-to-date.
