A massive THANK YOU to the People of BAINFEST!
To start, I would like to thank Tara for all her help and for being that solid pillar to lean on during this entire process. She was right by my side as we put out fires during the concert, always there for support, and put in an unbelievable amount of physical and administrative hard work. That dedication extended right down through her family and her good friends, Joyce and Gary, who showed tremendous work ethic. I can’t thank you enough.
To the production team that Tara and I had the pleasure of working with: it starts with Gerry Grant. Your organizational skills and experience working with big acts and large production were invaluable. Thank you all for the professionalism on stage—Dave on the right side of the stage and Dave Roode on the left handling the acts and changeovers, Zack Lacey on stage monitors, and Maurice, our utility guy. Huge thanks to Brent and Chris for the awesome lighting. All these guys were a massive part of the setup and tear down. This group made Bainfest. Thank you.
To the other volunteers and friends of Tara’s who were there when needed during the show and stayed after for cleanup: Thank you!
I would also like to thank Johnathan, Hanna, Giles, and Juliana (we know Geneva wanted to be here!). Thanks for the online support, Juliana. Johnathan, Giles, and Hanna were amazing at bartending—keeping the product cold and moving fast behind the bar. And to Carm’s kids, Selina and Stefan, great serving skills. Thank you!
To the arena support: Richard, thanks for having the confidence in us to pull it off.
To Tour Tech: your crew is amazing. To come in, know exactly what to do right away, and solve any issues without panicking—thank you.
To TataBrew and all the staff: we asked a lot of you and you were always there. Thank you for the support.
To all the other volunteers on the door, in the green room, and everywhere else that helped out. (In one case, I even had to steal a room from a volunteer at Balmoral for a band member—thank you for your understanding!)
Tara, thank you again. I know I pi**ed you off more than once, so I apologize, and thank you for sticking with it!
Marie, thanks for your cooperation and support.
To the campers in the back: when called upon, it was like an army of ants coming into the arena asking, "What needs to be done?" Incredible.
And finally, to the people who attended: thank you. The satisfaction of seeing you enjoying yourselves was truly priceless.
I hope I didn’t miss anyone. If I didn’t know the name of everyone who helped out, I am so sorry!
Thanks Tata,
From Bain and Tara
