✨ Meet the Hedone Artists ✨

Francesca Heart is a Milan-based dance and sound artist whose practice moves freely between movement, sound, and myth. Trained in postmodern dance with Anna Halprin, she integrates landscape, sound, and feminine sensitivities into her choreography, electronic music production, and sound installations.

Sphinx Nouvelle is Francesca Heart's fourth solo album. Produced between Thailand, Italy, and Mallorca, the album reflects a geographical collage of life impressions and inner reflections, highlighting the artist's imaginative and emotional growth. The title lends itself to a dual interpretation: on one hand, it evokes the nebulous narrative of a sphinx figure, unfurling and fleshing out as the musical compositions progress; on the other hand, it reveals how Heart’s artistic maturity generates new paths to empowerment through musical playfulness.

The sound outlines a cinematic experience for the ear, as Heart intertwines real architectural visions, imaginary tales, and references to pop culture. In Sphinx Nouvelle, worlds and dimensions collide and overlap like mirages, allowing us to view architectures, histories, and mythologies through a kaleidoscopic lens.

✨ Meet the Hedone Artists ✨

Mariana Carvalho is a Brazilian performer and musician based in Berlin. She works with the body and the interactions between bodies — mostly through sound, voice, technological mediation, improvisation, text, internal listening, contact, materials, self-built instruments, and prepared piano. Collaboration is a big part of her practice, often unfolding within the fields of performative arts and dance.

Her solo music performance uses pre-recorded materials that are played through the head of the performer. Wearing binaural microphones and ear protectors, she shares her internal listening perspective as she improvises with these materials. She chooses what is audible by placing small speakers inside and into her mouth and a pair of transducers on her head, adding her voice on top — and sometimes, she eats. Among the composed materials are mouth-to-mouth vocals, voice, instruments, seashells, and excerpts from Hilda Hilst’s Fluxo Floema.

✨ Meet the Hedone Artists ✨

Introducing Amina Abouelghar: a dancer and choreographer working between Brussels and Cairo. Amina graduated from CCDC in 2019 and has since created works that travel between continents and festivals. Her first solo Young Dreams (2023) was shown at NEXT Festival, Les Chorégraphiques, Vevey, and Festival de la Cité. She is also part of the dance duo Nafaq, whose works have appeared at Festival de Marseille, D-CAF, Indiscipline Festival (WIELS), and Triennale di Milano.

Guided by a deep fascination with rhythm and music, Amina explores how sound and movement intertwine to create new performative languages. Her work becomes a rhythm exploration, an ode to dance and music, and a narration of invisible stories through movement — a poetic contemplation on stories yet untold.
