British Pedal Car Championship -Evesham 2023 .

01/03/2022

As the entries to round 1 of the British Pedal Car Championship at Wombwell roll in, it's time to remind everyone that entries for round 2, the Welsh Borders 6 hour are open and available on the championship website shop:

http://pedalcarracing.info/shop

Taking place on Saturday 7th May 2022, our first visit to the Welsh border will no doubt provide fast, flowing and fun racing in the heart of Herefordshire.

We've secured space at the nearby Beeches campsite for teams to break up the weekend for those who wish to and we're working to publish further details within our race information around nearby accommodation.

Race information will be available and published shortly so watch this space.

As so aptly stated by our chairman Jes, it's down to you to support the championship and show us your support as we emerge stronger from a difficult few years for all.

Want to try pedalcar racing but don't have a car? Let us know and we'll see what we can do.

Lots of water has passed under the proverbial bridge in recent weeks with many changes to the country's response to Covid19 with various stages and rule relaxations set provisionally by the UK government.

What does it mean for us? All being well, our Welsh Borders 6hr at Kinsham will become our first race of the 2021 season and thus our first race in earnest since 2019.

Many hours of deliberation, discussion and effort behind the scenes have kept the pedal car fires roaring over the last 18 months and lockdown rules permitting, Kinsham will end our long wait to go racing once more.

Details about the event and how to enter will be firmed up shortly but in the meantime, dust off that chassis, clean up your car, finish off that project and prepare the legs... We can finally see the light at the end of the tunnel!

In the meantime here's a reminder of what we'll soon be able to enjoy once more, racing hard, racing fair and more often than not, on the limit.

We can't wait to see you all.

Four years on from our last post and a different red carrying the coveted #1...

Here's a pic Rugby Velo, 2012's defending champions making headway and working hard at Bruntingthorpe in round 2 of the 2013 championship season.

Rugby Velo have been present since the 2009 season in some way, shape or form and always run at the sharp end of the field. We hope to see them in 2021 once more...

Tbt to 2009 where we ran round 2 in the glorious surroundings of Margam Park in South Wales. In 2021 round 2 will be staged be on the Welsh border at Kinsham Raceway in Herefordshire, an equally stunning place to go racing.

Pictured is James Kirk at the helm of the Bristol Racing chassis, the then reigning British champions from 2008, winning the title in fine fashion.

There have been rumours of a BPCC return for Bristol in recent years and boy wouldn't we love to see it in 2021.
