Rainbow Cup Grenada 2026 Concludes Successfully; Organizers Look Ahead to Future Growth
St. George’s, Grenada 12th April 2026
The Rainbow Cup Grenada 2026 concluded as a resounding success, delivering a full day of multisport action in Camerhogne Park, Grand Anse Beach.
The event commenced at 7:00 a.m. with the highly anticipated sprint category, setting an energetic tone for the day. This was followed by a series of youth races, including the 6–9, 10–12, and 13–15 age groups, all of which showcased impressive participation and sportsmanship.
A highlight of the event was the “Try-a-Tri” category, designed to introduce adults to the sport of triathlon through short, accessible distances. The initiative was well received, reinforcing the event’s mission to promote inclusivity and participation at all levels.
The day continued with the 3–5 age group races, bringing enthusiasm and excitement from the youngest participants, and concluded with a one-mile run around Morne Rouge Playing Field.
Event organizers reported a smooth and incident-free experience, with strong community support, high athlete satisfaction, and positive feedback on the quality of custom medals and event apparel.
“We are extremely pleased with how Rainbow Cup Grenada 2026 unfolded,” said Jason Gooding of OdesseyTiming. “Our goal is to continue growing the event and providing a platform for youth development through sport.”
Looking ahead, organizers expressed optimism about expanding the event in future years, inviting other counties to participate encouraging Sports Tourism and drawing inspiration from the growth of Rainbow Cup Tobago. However, due to financial constraints, the Rainbow Cup Tobago event, one of the biggest triathlon events in the Caribbean will not take place in 2026. Organizers emphasized that this is a postponement rather than a cancellation, with plans to resume the event in 2027 at Heritage Park, Turtle Beach, Tobago.
The Rainbow Cup series continues to advocate for increased corporate sponsorship and community investment in youth sports. Organizers highlighted the long-term benefits of early athletic involvement, including improved discipline, motivation, and positive lifestyle development among young participants.
“We believe that investing in youth sports is an investment in the future,” the organizers added. “With greater support, we can continue to build opportunities that inspire and empower the next generation.”
