Entries for the 2026 Australian Hearse Nationals in Maldon will open very soon.

This year's Nationals categories will be;

People's choice
Best Hearse Pre 1980
Best Hearse Post 1980
Best Imported Hearse
Furthest Distance Travelled
Best Patina or Project
Best Display (get those thinking caps on and get creative).

Entry this year will be set at $45.00 per Hearse. This will include an entrants collectors number plate with entrant number to display with your Hearse.

Saturday we are gathering for a cruise from Maldon to Hadfield's Garage in Castlemaine.

Sunday will be the main event with the Hearse Street Parade followed by the Hearse Show & Shine.

The 2026 Australian Hearse Nationals are on again this year in Maldon Victoria. This will be our 4th year as Australia's Number 1 and ONLY Hearse Festival.

The event is open to all hearses, new, old, imported, projects, rusty, hotted up, customised, whatever goes. This is a weekend of relaxat fun with like minded people that love all thing Hearses. Things start on Saturday 1st August with a run to Rod Haddies Garage followed by lunch and a photo shoot. Then on Sunday 2nd August the main event, the famous Hearse Parade through Maldon followed by the Australian Hearse Nationals Show & Shine. This is a real Hearse Festival weekend that runs in conjunction with the Goldfields Golthic Festival in Maldon. Live music, stories, fashion, markets and much more.

So book your accommodation and come and join this growing must do Festival weekend. The 4th Australian Hearse Nationals, Maldon Victoria, August 1st & 2nd 2026.

Wishing all a Very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

Please remember to save the Date for the 2026 Australian Hearse Nationals to be held over the weekend of the 1st and 2nd of August 2026.

This event is currently the only Australian Hearse Festival for ALL Hearse enthusiasts. This event is now in its 4th year and is gaining more and more interest and more sponsors coming on board.

This event is for all hearses, no matter how old or new, no matter if it is a show piece or a project. Come along and enjoy an awesome and exciting weekend in a beautiful historic setting with fellow enthusiasts.

The 2026 awards category's will be announced early in the new year with entries opening in February.

I have been contacted by Barry to post his hearse up for sale. His words follow;

I have a 1924 Hudson car that was professionally rebodied in 1934 to be a hearse. Under restoration. We are shifting because I have hurt my back. I hope someone from your hearse group will ring for details, perhaps an article for your newsletters and hopefully a buyer. Barry near Elizabeth in SA.

Very honoured to have an entry from the legendary hot rod builder Rod Hadfield. His 1922 Dodge is simply amazing and not only took out the people's choice award today at the 2025 Australian Hearse Nationals but also took Best Hearse in Show.

Many photos to come of what was an amazing event. Great to see many returning from previous years as well as many new face's and Hearses.

Now the planning starts for 2026.
