🎬 We didn't expect to leave speechless. But we did.
On 19 May, Social ChangeMakers Network gathered in Saigon for a community screening of The Brilliant Darkness (Đêm Tối Rực Rỡ!) — and the room has been quiet ever since. The kind of quiet that only a truly powerful film leaves behind.
Heavy. Shocking. Honest. Unforgettable.
It's no surprise this film took home 5 Golden Kite Awards including Best Film. Every frame earns it. There were moments that stopped the room cold — moments that reminded us why stories like this one need to be told, and why we need to be willing to sit with the discomfort they bring.
After the screening, director Aaron Toronto joined us for a candid Q&A — sharing how the film was made, the creative decisions behind it, and fascinating behind-the-scenes facts that made us see the film in an entirely new light.
This is a film about family. About domestic violence. About the mental health wounds passed down in silence across generations. And it hit exactly as hard as it should.
💙 Thank you to everyone in Saigon who showed up and sat with it.

Today, the film travels north. The Hanoi community is watching it for the first time this afternoon — and we're curious how it will land in a different room, with different people.
Some stories need to move through a whole country. We think this is one of them. 🇻🇳
