“Between 36,000 and 40,000 people in Vietnam commit su***de per year among the sharp rise in the number of local people living with depression.”

As young neuroscientists and psychologists who seek to address mental health issues in Vietnam, these numbers hit us differently. They left us with a burning desire to normalize mental disorders in a society where discussions about mental health are sti

ll being swept under the rug. Better yet, we hope to one day treat mental illnesses and banish conventional methods lacking in medical backgrounds that are still prevalent in Vietnam’s rural areas. As we strive to be at the forefront of this battle, we aim to organize the first-ever Brain Bee competition in Vietnam for high school students passionate about neuroscience, who will adopt, refine, or create modernized practices to treat mental disorders for Vietnamese suffering from such illnesses. It is of utmost importance to us that passion goes along with knowledge, which becomes the tenet of the 2021 Brain Bee Vietnam competition.

Every journey begins with a step and ends with a memory, but it’s the moments in between that define the path and make it worthwhile. Thank you for being our steady support, for walking alongside us, and for sharing in our mission to bring neuroscience and psychology closer to the hearts of Vietnamese youth.

As Brain Bee Vietnam’s journey in 2025 draws to a close, our competition reaches its end. Yet, this is only a pause. We look forward to reuniting soon—until then, wait for us as we prepare for Brain Bee Vietnam 2026 🌷!

🌿 Meet Our Returning Judge for Brain Bee Vietnam 2025 — Ms. Caressa Hanh Truong! 🌿

We are delighted to welcome back Ms. Caressa Hanh Truong, an accomplished interdisciplinary consultant and counsellor dedicated to helping organizations, groups, and individuals identify their challenges and translate insights into lasting actions.

Ms. Truong holds a B.Sc. in Social Sciences from Singapore Management University (2010), where she double-majored in Applied Psychology and Corporate Communication. She also earned a Graduate Diploma in Counselling (ACA accredited) from the Australian Institute of Professional Counselling (2022), with focuses in School Counselling, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and Grief and Loss Counselling.

In addition, she holds a Professional Certificate in Career Counselling from Hồn Việt Career Counseling Center and HCMC University of Pedagogy (2019), specializing in career orientation for tertiary students and job transition counselling for mid-career professionals.

Currently, Ms. Truong serves as a Counsellor specializing in Children and Adolescents at Saigon Psychub, where she supports mental health development in school, family, and personal contexts.

🌿 Gặp gỡ giám khảo trở lại của Brain Bee Vietnam 2025 — cô Caressa Hanh Truong! 🌿

Chúng mình rất vui mừng được chào đón cô Caressa Hanh Truong quay trở lại với vai trò giám khảo của cuộc thi năm nay. Là một chuyên gia tư vấn liên ngành và nhà tham vấn tâm lý, cô Caressa luôn đồng hành cùng các tổ chức, nhóm và cá nhân trong việc nhận diện khó khăn, cũng như chuyển hóa chúng thành hành động và cam kết mang tính lâu dài.

Cô Caressa tốt nghiệp Cử nhân Khoa học Xã hội tại Đại học Quản lý Singapore (SMU) năm 2010, với song ngành Tâm lý Ứng dụng và Truyền thông Doanh nghiệp. Năm 2022, cô hoàn thành Văn bằng Sau đại học về Tham vấn Tâm lý (được công nhận bởi ACA) tại Viện Đào tạo Chuyên nghiệp về Tham vấn Úc (AIPC), chuyên sâu về Tham vấn học đường, Trị liệu Chấp nhận và Cam kết (ACT), cùng Tham vấn về Mất mát và Tang chế.

Ngoài ra, cô còn có Chứng chỉ Chuyên nghiệp về Tham vấn Hướng nghiệp do Trung tâm Hướng nghiệp Hồn Việt và Đại học Sư phạm TP. HCM cấp (2019), với chuyên môn định hướng nghề nghiệp cho sinh viên đại học và hỗ trợ chuyển đổi công việc cho người đi làm.

Hiện cô Caressa đang là nhà tham vấn tâm lý chuyên về trẻ em và thanh thiếu niên tại Saigon Psychub, nơi cô hỗ trợ các bạn trong quá trình phát triển tâm lý, học tập, gia đình và bản thân.
