Over a seven-day period in 2024, competitors have an opportunity to complete a lifetime goal of running a marathon on each of the 7 continents. The first marathon is scheduled to begin at Novo, Antarctica on 6th February with subsequent marathons at Cape Town, Perth, Istanbul, Cartagena and Miami. In a unique aspect to the event, Istanbul hosts both the Asian and European legs of The Great World Race: After the Asian race, participants travel to Europe by foot over the Bosphorus Bridge, the dividing line between the continents. The registration fee not only includes travel by charter plane, but trip cancellation and medical insurance for the adventure.
