Bahahahahahahahahahahahahaha! Yeah, sorry, DEFINITELY a soprano!

I came across the app “Simply Sing” and decided to check it out to see if it would be a good tool for practice sessions in between lessons. So… as you can see, we were off to a bad start! I do still have lingering congestion from a cold, but I’ve tried this 3 or 4 times and it still says I’m an alto! That being said, once you get into the singing sessions, it does give good advice and is a more fun and engaging way to practice. So I think it would be worth it as a supplemental tool. But seriously, every song the feedback would say “let’s see if this is in the best key for you.” Uh, no it’s not. Ya labeled me an alto and I can’t reach those notes comfortably!

So yeah, it’s relatively inexpensive, but you pay per year. I did the free 7 day trial. If you try it, let me know what range you get and what you really are!!

Today was my little intern’s last day in the studio. It appears she hasn’t learned much… 😹

Lucky heads to her furever home on Friday morning. Thank you to all my students for helping to show her happiness and love!! And thanks to Iridescence Cares for allowing me to care for her and for finding her a wonderful new home! Check the comments for her 2 day old baby picture! 😻

The wait is over! Sign-up slots and audition materials are officially live for our upcoming Mainstage productions of Annie and Ragtime.

Auditions will be held in person on June 22 & 23 in Castagna Hall. Please read the details below carefully before signing up!

🗓️ Audition Schedule & Location:
📍 Where: Fulton Theatre (Castagna Hall) | 12 N. Prince St., Lancaster, PA

📅 Monday, June 22
10:00 AM – 4:30 PM: Annie / Ragtime Girls
4:30 PM – 6:00 PM: Movement Callbacks

📅 Tuesday, June 23
10:00 AM – 1:00 PM: Ragtime Boys
3:30 PM – 6:00 PM: Annie Final Callbacks

💡 Auditioning for both? Girls auditioning for both only need to prepare the Annie material.

🎼 What to Prepare:
All sheet music, scenes, monologues, and practice tracks are available in the sign-up link under "Related Files."

Annie/Orphans: Prepare the specific song cuts and scenes provided in the link.
Ragtime Girls: Prepare a 16–32 bar cut of a song of your choice (bring sheet music).
Ragtime Boys: Prepare a 16–32 bar cut of your own song, plus the provided monologue/scene.

Ragtime: Rehearsals begin 9/3/26 | Runs 9/25/26 – 10/18/26

🎭 TEEN AUDITIONS: Join the Ensemble of Ragtime! 🌟✨

We are seeking talented local teens (ages 16–19) who are strong singers and good movers to join the adult ensemble of Ragtime on our Mainstage! 🏛️🎶

📅 Production Dates:
🍂 Rehearsals Begin: September 3, 2026
🎭 Show Run: September 25 – October 18, 2026

💼 Note: Non-paid, local positions. Housing is not provided.

📹 How to Submit:

🎤 Vocals: A 16–32 bar song cut.
💃 Movement: A video clip demonstrating your dance/movement background.

Any student who would like to participate will be learning their part of Lacrimosa from Mozart’s Requiem this summer. Because it’s difficult to pull everyone together to rehearse and such, I’m going to do this Covid style and make a recording/video for everyone to hear! I decided to foster this adorable little girl in conjunction with Iridescence Cares. She’s 5 weeks old today and will be in the studio!! So free kitten therapy with voice lessons for a few weeks… 😉😻
