We want to celebrate Ellie today as she retires from farming and steps into her next chapter. Her work at Age Old Agriculture has been a gift to our kitchen, and the care she brought to every harvest shaped so many beautiful plates here. We will miss her presence at the farm, but we are truly looking forward to our continued friendship and are excited for her new path and grateful for the seasons we shared. 💝

As we honor her work, we also look ahead. Our gardens continue to expand here at The Springhouse, and our commitment to thoughtful, local food remains at the heart of what we do. We are proud to continue our partnership with Lucky Star Farms and several nearby growers who share our love for fresh, regional ingredients. 🌿

Today is National Tourism Day, it makes for the perfect moment to appreciate the people and places that make the Lower Buffalo region so special. 🚣‍♀️

I spent part of my morning enjoying coffee with my friend Ruth at Dogwood Hills Guest Farm, just up the road from The Springhouse. Ruth serves as the current chairman of the Arkansas Hospitality Association, and our conversation centered on the growing impact of agritourism in our area. 🚜

We talked about the ways local efforts are strengthening the connection between regional farmers and local chefs. We also shared ideas for future collaborations. I cannot wait to see all of the good things that come from this season of growth in our community. 🥗

I even brought home a small souvenir for our garden at the restaurant, a little bundle of chocolate mint! What an exciting time to be part of something that brings such positive attention to our beautiful section of the Ozarks. 💖
