The Yakima Valley's Annual Celebration of Hops and Fresh Hop Beer! Not only that, there's live music, food, wines, and more~

Besides the bounty of its hop harvest, Yakima claims one of the craft brewing industry’s roots: the original home of America’s first post-prohibition brewpub. As ales, stouts and hefeweizens continue to gain popularity, Yakima is the place to experience some of the finest examples! For a brew to be considered a “fresh hop ale” for the festival competition, it must be produced with hops that were p

icked no more than 24 hours prior to brewing (talk about overnight shipping!). Fresh Hop Ale is produced throughout the month of September, timing dependent on the growth of each year’s hop harvest. Brewers then bring their freshly brewed kegs of beer to the fest, where a panel of judges selects first, second and third place Fresh Hop Ales.

You can bring your RV or tent and have an easy time getting in and out at the festival. Walk through your own entrance and enter hassle-free, and then head back at the end of the night with no worries! Full or partial hookups and grass spots are available.

🌱 Fresh Hop Ale Festival Grant Applications Are Now Open! 🌱

The 2026 Grant Application period is now open and will run from April 10, 2026 through midnight on May 30, 2026.

These grants support science and arts programs, experiences, and opportunities that benefit communities throughout Yakima County

📣 Grant recipients will be announced on June 30, 2026.
