Taylor Swift has been named the Billboard artist of the year. It has been a remarkable year for the 19 year old star. Taylor has been topping the charts and has had some of the biggest singles. 2009 is finishing off nicely for the young country musician. During Taylor’s acceptance speech for a well-deserved win for Best Female Video at the MTV Video Music Awards, Kanye West stormed the stage, snatched the microphone and declared Beyonce’s Single Ladies to be “one of the best videos of all time.” Kanye handed the mic back to a rattled Taylor who was so upset she couldn’t finish her speech. During Beyonce’s later win she called Taylor on stage where Taylor was finally able to give her speech. Kanye’s rude interruption resulted in a huge media storm—Kanye took to his blog to make an ALL CAPS APOLOGY and two days later on The Jay Leno Show, he apologized again, citing his mother’s death as the catalyst for his bizarre behavior.
