Tonight’s Zoom Spin In was a bit quiet as several of our regular attendees were at Rhinebeck this weekend. For all our new flock members we host a weekly Zoom Spin In where all spinners are welcome no matter what tools they use. Some of us spin, some knit or crochet, some weave. It’s a wonderful evening enjoying the company of other fibery folks.

We hold it every Saturday at 7 PM Eastern. Normally we go for about 2-3 hours. Zoom ID is 803 600 7502 PW is 197552.

We are having an incredible time at Rhinebeck! It’s been so wonderful to see everyone! We cannot wait to see what our new flock members make with our wheels, winders, and looms. We still have plenty of wheels and looms to go around so if you haven’t stopped by yet there is still plenty to choose from.

Wishing everyone a wonderful time at Rhinebeck and thank you all for making this our best Rhinebeck yet!

How much can you fit on a Magpie Standard bobbin? These four braids will leave room to spare on this bobbin! Magpie Standard bobbins can fit upwards of 20+ oz of 30 WPI singles. Evanita W Montalvo has managed to fit 27.5 oz in the past.

This stunt was performed by trained professionals (Dave), do not try this at home. We are enjoying our time at SOAR. We wanted to run the Whirligig with some color so it could be seen better. We had some yarn on a Falcon bobbin but no lazy kate! Dave set up this Magpie Pro Art Flyer so we could use it as a temporary Lazy Kate. When winding off a bobbin on a flyer we advise having it set up on your wheel with the drive/tension belts removed and ensure the flyer is seated properly.

The Bird’s the word! The booth is all set up for SOAR and we have our flock ready to take flight to their new owners.

The Daedalus Trailer is ready for SOAR & NYsheepwool and oh boy it is full to the BRIM at max capacity. We could not add anything further to this trailer even if we wanted to. Dave has gone over all the weight math to ensure that this max load is safe for all aspects of the trailer, tires, tongue, axle etc. Nothing overlooked to ensure we have the safest travels possible for our last two festivals of the year.

This may be the last year for this small trailer. As we expand into new products, particularly into looms we’ll need to upgrade to something larger. To accommodate all our existing products as well as what we have in store for next year!

We wish everyone who’s going to SOAR and Rhinebeck safe travels and we cannot wait to see you there! Quick reminder we are in Barn 39 Booth 7-8 at Rhinebeck.
