Guitar Raffle Announcement! 🎸
We’re excited to share that our good friend and ally, , is back at Healing Appalachia this year and raffling off another custom guitar this Saturday evening from the stage!
Entries are just $5 each or $20 for five entries. You can find his booth on the left side of the stage (stage right) near the entrance, selling tickets starting as soon as the gates open today.
Now, let us tell you about this beautiful guitar: it’s a custom hand-built instrument made from locally sourced wood—walnut, red spruce, and a maple neck. The only parts not local are the hardware and fingerboard. This stunning piece is valued at over $3,500!
Plus, Dan Reeder will be playing this guitar during his set before it’s raffled off!
All proceeds will go directly to Hope in the Hills, the 501(c)(3) organization that runs Healing Appalachia.

Artist Spotlight: Geno Seale
Geno Seale is a singer/songwriter from Irvine, KY. Writing and performing across multiple genres since the late 1990s, he is known as a deep and reflective lyricist who holds a mirror up to the human condition. His Appalachian roots are displayed proudly in the songs he writes and the way he performs them, from his hillfolk pronunciations to his penchant for sometimes performing shirtless. Beyond his own talents, Geno is the biggest fan of music you'll ever meet, and he is first in line to cheer on his fellow artists and offer up one of his famous and patented hugs. Geno has been on cloud 9, as a song he penned with good friend Tyler Childers, ""In Your Love,"" made a solid run on the Billboard charts, and was nominated for a Grammy in the category of “Best Country Song”.

Artist Spotlight: Jordan Lee King
Jordan Lee King is a singer/songwriter from Middlesboro, Kentucky which is nestled inside the Appalachian Mountains. His songs are a reflection of his upbringing and the hardships he has witnessed growing up. His sound is from the core of the Appalachian hills. Jordan is a true wordsmith that can spin a story to draw his listeners in. You'll either laugh or you will cry, because his music makes you feel. One of today's top storytellers that some put up there with John Prine, Kris Kristofferson and John R Miller. You won't be sorry you stopped and listened to him.

Artist Spotlight: Oliver Wood Trio
Whenever Oliver Wood isn't touring with The Wood Brothers — the Grammy-nominated roots trio that he co-founded in 2006 — he typically begins his mornings the same way: in Nashville, at home, with a coffee cup in his hand and a notebook in his lap.
"There's a chair in my living room, right in front of a window,"" he says. ""Every morning, I go down there to drink my coffee, meditate, and write. It's like a therapy session for me, because I can write without any specific goal in mind. I can be creative without being self-judgmental.”
Many of the songs from Fat Cat Silhouette, Wood's second solo record, began taking shape in that chair. Produced by his Wood Brothers’ bandmate Jano Rix, it's an album of unexpected twists and turns. Longtime fans will recognize the earnest, elastic voice that has always anchored the Wood Brothers' mix of forward-looking folk and southern country-funk, but Fat Cat Silhouette doesn't spend much time looking backward. Instead, it abandons convention, breaks a few rules, and positions Oliver Wood as a roots-music innovator who's every bit as interested in the process as the product.

Artist Spotlight: Conrad Moore
Conrad Moore is a North Georgia native singer-songwriter who captures the soul of the working Southern man. His songs have roots in folk storytelling, which give a nod to the ups and downs of life, love, and the pursuit of happiness. Washed in hints of booze, half-truths, and motel rooms, his lyrics personify Mother Nature and her dance with Appalachia. The human condition and blue-collar woes are often his muses, although his songs have no shortage of heartbreak and day to day strife.
Conrad produces a relatable angst of a generation growing up within the confines of a flawed American dream. Not without hope, his music shares with us what's left to save about the southland.
Conrad Moore has been added to play our FREE event alongside Alabaster Boxer, Willi Carlisle, and Palmyra on Wednesday, September 18th for the local community and those who arrive early.

Artist Spotlight: Sierra Hull
Sierra Hull is widely regarded to be a master of her instrument; A two-time Grammy Nominated artist and songwriter, recognized for both her most recent projects, 25 Trips (2020) and Weighted Mind (2016), she is also the 6x recipient of IBMA's Mandolin Player of the Year, the first woman to ever receive this distinction. A pioneer for acoustic music throughout her already impressive multi-decade career, she has graced the country's most iconic stages, including Carnegie Hall, the Grand Ole Opry, and the White House. Her virtuosic abilities have garnered respect from genre-defining trailblazers, friends, and collaborators such as Alison Krauss, Sturgill Simpson, Garth Brooks, Dolly Parton, Béla Fleck, Bobby McFerrin, and Brandi Carlile. Originally hailing from Byrdstown, Tennessee, her unique sound is rooted in bluegrass, and she is widely considered one of acoustic music's most inventive artists.

The Official Healing Appalachia 2024 Lineup Is Here ✨️
We know you’ve been waiting with much anticipation, and we can’t wait to see you all at the State Fair of West Virginia for three days of unforgettable music, community, and healing this September 19-21.
🎟 Tickets for both the Three Day Festival and the Late Night Sets will go on sale July 9th 10am EST! 🎟
Similar to last year, we will have a Wednesday event for the local community and those who arrive early (all are welcome) that is 100% FREE. No ticket is needed to enter the free community event on Wednesday evening (more details on this event to be released soon).
Since Hope in the Hills is volunteer-run and recovery-based, we aim to keep tickets as affordable as possible so all can come. These artists dedicate their time and talent so funds can be directly distributed to recovery efforts across Appalachia and to cover basic production costs needed to run our festival!
Ticket prices include all three days of music and FREE On-site primitive camping.
Late Night Sets require a separate ticket.
