Where ya been Grace?
Meditation knowledge share:
You do not need guided meditation, music or anything to be.
The monkey mind is always running and must be cleared of all thoughts. You do not need background to clear the background, in fact you need less. You need to be safe in the moment regardless of the noise. Even the awareness of having the thought is a thought, right? Guided meditation is really good for getting you to release this thought junk. Candle focus (stare at a soy candle flame) bee breath or humming are the easiest physical ways to clear your monkey mind. Focus is what is meant when you are in this stage of meditation. Tears may come during this, sleep may come. That is part of the learning of meditation.
Once the mind clears you may see colors. Thinking “oh i see colors” is a thought.
Once you are in the colors without thought, you might see pictures. Thinking “i see a picture” is a thought.
Once you see pictures and they are moving you might enter nidra, lucid dream state. Once you realize you are there it might go back to thoughts or crying or sleeping…bc that is not a destination, we do this naturally when we sleep without awareness.
Once you are aware, your lucid visions may share a word with you. This is called a mantra. You can share with us your word. It is part of the wisdom of the spiritual collective.
If you do not think your way out of this state of being, you may enter samadhi. That is the state of pure bliss of the unconscious, completely connected to everything and nothing. Awareness is not available. Time has no measure here. You may spend hours here and it feels like seconds and vice versa. Samadhi is rare. I have experienced it 3 times in a long practice of meditation and it was when i was younger and full of trust and once when dance was my priority.
