Virginia Street Arts Festival at Waynesboro

Virginia Street Arts Festival at Waynesboro Organization promoting the creation of street art murals in Waynesboro, VA The 2022 festival is behind schedule, sadly. Thank you for your extreme patience.

There were delays in arranging wall permissions for the murals, but happily they are now in hand. It is, however, December now and we are getting repeated nighttime frosts. Obviously painting cannot successfully happen in below freezing temperatures. We are hoping the stars align with some mild weather in the remainder of 2022 and quickly pairing artists with walls. I am working directly with fest

ival founder Ian MacRae to move things forward as quickly as possible, but we are likely looking at a delay in the murals going up until Spring 2023. Continue to keep your eyes open for news. I'll post an update to the Page when there is solid news of a timeline for the murals to go up. In the meantime check out the associated exhibits in the room adjacent to Heritage on Main and the window of SVAC. Ed Scerbo

"BLOSSOMING WITHIN" by Jesse Jentzen adorns the building facade above Pyramid & Adorn on North Wayne Avenue. It's another mural from the Virginia Street Arts Festival.

The breeze whipped up several times and threatened to lift the tent over the outdoor bar next door at The River Burger Bar 's Tiki Party. Fortunately, it was held down by a few attentive bar patrons.

STRUGGLING WAYNESBORO FISH

"The Lure," a mural by New York artist "Humble" was further along in its creation, when I walked by that location during the Virginia Street Arts Festival on Saturday, May 17, 2025.

It's being painted on the side of the Stoneburner's building, at the intersection of Broad Street & Arch Avenue.
