Due to no volunteer coordinators available this year and battle area being developed by city, there will not be an event this year. The Veterans Day event at the civic center is still scheduled, but the battle will not occur.

The Waxahachie Visitors and Tourism office has reached out to see if there will be reenactment events for this year. As of yet there is no new coordinator so we don't have anyone to point them to for an event. If someone is willing to step in for this year, please PM so you can be placed in contact with the city personnel.

Looks like the bridge is coming down.

Beginning tomorrow, Friday, June 4, the Hike and Bike Trail will be closed at the old viaduct to allow for demolition. This closure is expected to last several weeks. Trail users may still access the trail at Getzendaner Park to the viaduct, and from Rogers Street to Lions Park. Additionally, Little Creek Trail and the Waxahachie Sports Complex Trail will both be open and fully accessible as an alternative during this closure.

Good afternoon. We have received a few inquiries regarding this year's event and schedule. The workplace demands on previous coordinators have made it necessary to find another organizer to lead the way. Please send a PM if you live in the DFW area and you are willing to step into the role for this year and possibly beyond. Materials, contacts, and introductions will gladly be conveyed to keep this event going.

Unfortunately due to the return of restrictions on public gatherings, the city of Waxahachie is unable to approve any permits and they are cancelling all events through November. As a result we will not have the event this year. Looking forward to a better 2021 for all.

Wondering what to do on Saturday night after you have expended all ammo and eaten at one of the city's fine restaurants? Whiskey Coy is once again hosting movie night for reenactors at the Park and Rec office. Movie time will be 19:00 and the feature will be whatever drops on resupply, but most likely will have British paratroopers because, well, they are Brits after all. There was plenty of popcorn and soft drinks last year, so don't miss out.

We're just a few days away and the camping areas will be Boyce Field where the Allies have camped for several years and the city park opposite the Depot where Axis forces have been camping. Parks and Recreation will cover the basketball posts and hearts on Friday afternoon and they will block the parking lot so only Axis vehicles will be permitted.

The College Street Pub is once again hosting Friday night "beer garden/Oktoberfest/Germans last meal" for reenactors. There will be some great Oktoberfest dinner specials and beer on tap. We typically take over the outdoor area at 18:30 and some have been known to enjoy until closing.
Be sure to shine your boots and leave your weapons in camp. Hope to see you there.
