The Playhouse At Waterville Station is a venue for all varieties of play, including performance, entertainment, education, recreation, art, and culture. The Playhouse is the new home for the Aqua City Actor's Theater (ACAT), a Waterville-based community theater group, as well as the Elm City Community Music School and the Fulton Street Media Group. With two venues available for event rentals ("The theater" for live plays and performances, "The auditorium" for smaller performances, conferences, master classes, gatherings, video games and entertainment on the big screen, etc.), we dream of The Playhouse joining all the other magnificent opportunities for arts and entertainment that make Waterville a cultural gathering place for Central Maine.

Hello Everyone,

We plan to continue to operate the Playhouse at Waterville Station in order to honor Randy's memory and wishes. Our doors will remain open as scheduled, and we will do our best to continue to support the arts and performances as he would have.

We miss him dearly, and know the community does as well. Thank you all for the support as we navigate this challenging situation.

Thank you,
Randy's family

Acting friends!

I received this request from a local filmmaker. I am not affiliated with this effort, but I told them I would pass the request along to local actors.

My name is Quinn Collins, and I am a Maine-based filmmaker. I am reaching out to you with an urgent request. We are currently in the middle of shooting a film in Brunswick, with roughly 80% of principal photography already completed.

Unfortunately, due to a sudden and unexpected casting emergency, we have lost the actor playing a pivotal role.

COMPENSATION: $200 per day for 2 days of shooting on September 19-20 (Plus meals and a screen credit).
SHOOT COMMITMENT: One weekend (2 consecutive days).
Shooting date: the shooting date is fixed: September 19-20.
Rehearsals: we will need 2 (unpaid) rehearsals prior to the 19th.
LOCATION: Brunswick, Maine.
DATE: The date is fixed: September 19-20.
FILM SYNOPSIS:
Act #1: A terrorist cell in a fictional fascist state kidnaps and interrogates the head of a bureaucratic agency.
Act #2: The leader of the group tries to persuade a 60-year-old everyman to help the cell in another crime.
CHARACTER DESCRIPTION:
Age: (~60) year-old male actor
The Character: Everyman presented with a difficult moral dilemma.
HOW TO APPLY:
Please send a clear photo/headshot, a brief summary of your acting experience to:
Name: Quinn Collins
Email: [email protected]
Phone: 207-272-2912

If you know any actors in your company who might be willing to step in and save the day, could you please forward this email to them or share it with your group right away? Interested actors can contact me directly.

I also received some additional information about this:

This is a challenging role as far as length. It's 22 pages.

So, I am increasing the offer to $200 per day for 2 days of shooting, plus a $100 a day for four rehearsals (total $800).

This whole film is more like a dialogue-driven filmed play, but, remember, it's a movie, so we have cuts and we shoot the film in chunks.
