Whipped up a large quilt carry bag from batik scraps. I’ve been wanting one for two years....the squares are made with used dryer sheets so don’t throw them away. Another use for lint and dryer sheets are starter balls for starting a fire in the fire place...

2019 is almost gone & I have not posted one thing this year? Just off the table 3 beautiful quilts and 1 more to go. After recovery from a serious illness in April I’m feeling like my old really old self finally 🤗. I can sympathize for those seriously ill and know how difficult it can be. During my recovery I fished almost daily in a boat in the Strait of San Juan Defuca for two months and it was the best thing I could have done for my body & soul. Recently I attended the Kitsap Quilt Show, took a wonderful Embroidery class at Karen’s Quilt Shop taught by Sharon Clayton and Marilyn Williams. I’m preparing to attend Sequim’s Sunbonnet Sue’s club 4-day sewing retreat October 21-24.

The best part of this year is the recent news from Peter and Corinna I will be having my first grandson due in March. I’m already designing so many things for their new family and can’t wait for this little guy to arrive......life is like a box of chocolates, you just never know...

Haven’t posted in eons.....finished hand piece created in Hollis Chatelain’s workshop I attended in November, 2018. Hollis’ technique is to trace a photograph or design, paint with liquid dye and then thread paint. I hope to be crazy busy this year as I broke down and caught the embroidery bug.

Attended a fabulous 3-day workshop by Hollis Chatelain. Hollis is extraordinarily talented and I was in AW of her work and knowledge the entire time. We learned how to dye paint designs, cure fabric, design and thread paint our creations. Please checkout her website at hollischatelain.com.

Wanted to share another beautiful scrappy quilt, displayed at the 2018 Sequim Quilt Show, pieced by Norma Herbold and quilted by yours truly. This quilt can be viewed two ways, first by just looking at it normally and taking in all the squares of lights & darks. Second squint your eyes and when you look at it you will see the secondary pattern appear.......very beautiful Norma, I am so happy to be a part of your beautiful quilt.

It’s already that time of year again, Sequim’s Quilt Show, July 20-22, 2018 put on by the Sunbonnet Sue Quilt Club. Loretta Bilow was the featured quilter and Elsa Oslo won best of show for her beautiful jacket garment. I participated with 11 other ladies in a fractured picture quilt which won a first place ribbon & was for sale for $800 & did not sell. I quilted the bookcase quilt which won a third place ribbon and sold for $300. I sold two quilts in the Country Store, “Catherdral Stars” 89x85 & “Boxy Stars” 45x45 both Bonnie Hunter designs. This years show was a good one......can’t wait until next year.
