Heartland Handbells of Sioux Falls, SD, rings under the auspices of Sioux Empire Handbells. Chaired by Dave Larson of Kreisers, Inc., Sioux Empire Handbells organizes the bi-annual Sioux Falls Area Handbell Festival. Olaf Ringers and was held at O'Gorman Junior High. Heartland Handbells has performed with the South Dakota Symphony, Sioux Falls Municipal Band, Sioux Empire Brass, Prairie Song, and
Bells of the Hills. In December 2013, we will be performing at Christmas at the Cathedral. Heartland Handbells began in 2005 after the First Presbyterian Church received a gift of four octaves of handbells in memory of Doriene Halvorson, a handbell ringer, composer, and arranger.
