Shaw Open House, one of Shaw Main Streets’ most popular neighborhood events, returns Saturday, June 21, 2025, from 1:00 pm – 5:00 pm. Shaw Open House is a celebration of the neighborhood and invites the entire city to visit Shaw and learn about its unique bars, restaurants and places to live, work, shop, play, and learn.
As part of Shaw Main Streets’ ongoing campaign, Shaw Open House gives visitors every reason to and through sampling, promotional activities and free gifts. A free ‘passport’ ushers visitors from merchant to merchant for a afternoon of exploration and entertainment, culminating with a prize-filled closeout party. At every business visited, attendees will have their passport validated, allowing the bearer to enter the prize drawings.
The first 300 Shaw Open House passport recipients will each receive four 'Shawbucks,' each worth $5.00 at participating businesses. Use these just like cash, with no other purchase required, at one business or four different businesses. All 'Shawbucks' expire at 11:59 PM, so use them to enjoy food, beverages, merchandise, or services during the day of the event and that evening.
Passports and Shawbucks will be distributed at Right Proper Shaw Brew Pub, 624 T Street, NW, starting at 1 PM on 06/21/25, while supplies last.
This Shaw Open House will include businesses throughout the Shaw Main Streets service area. Here you will find some of DC’s most beloved eateries, watering holes, fitness studios, and retail locations. Each will open their doors and offer live entertainment, free services, tastes and experiences to all.

An array of gift certificates, gift baskets and more will be raffled off at the Shaw Open House Close Out Party taking place starting at 5:00 PM at GG’s at Jake’s Tavern, 1606 7th Street, NW, Second Floor. Shawbucks can be redeemed at that location for food and beverages.
Attendees can participate in Shaw Open House by picking up an event passport at the event Welcome Center at Right Proper Shaw Brew Pub, 624 T Street, NW, starting at 1:00 PM on the day of the event.
This is a FREE event for all, and no tickets or reservations are required.
Free Shaw swag can also be picked up at the Welcome Center at Right Proper Shaw Brew Pub, including recyclable shopping bags, souvenir magnets, and more.

SHAW OPEN HOUSE PASSPORT CONTEST RULES
No purchase necessary to win. One printed passport per person. All printed passports to be entered into the drawing must be validated by visiting at least six (6) participating businesses during Shaw Open House and obtaining a validation sticker from said locations. Passports without at least six (6) correct challenge responses will be removed from the drawing. All information requested on the printed passport entry coupon must be completed for entry into the drawing. Any missing information will cause the entry or printed passport to be removed from the drawing. Winners must be present at the drawing to win. The prize drawing will be held at the closing party at GG’s at Jake’s Tavern, 1606 7th Street, NW, Second Floor, at 5:30 PM on 06/21/25. All passports must be brought to the closing party before the 5:30 PM drawing on 06/21/25. For gift certificates, the businesses’ rules for redemption must be complied with by the winner. Substitutions or exchanges of prizes will be at the discretion of the business providing them. The passport has no cash value. A list of prize winners can be obtained by emailing [email protected].
