Does anyone else get bothered a bit when others tell them to “Feel better soon” ? Because we won’t ever get better!

Some lessons arrive in ways we never would have chosen.

Healing didn't show up after everything settled down and made sense. It showed up in the middle of uncertainty, reminding me that I don't have to lose myself just because life feels unsteady.

The more life teaches me, the more I see that healing isn't always about changing what's happening around me. Sometimes it's learning how to keep standing without losing who I am in the process.

Some seasons don't bring solid ground. They reveal just how much strength we already carry.

▪️Not being able to work due to illness doesn’t just affect you financially. It affects you socially and mentally. Not having coworkers or a group of people you see and talk to every day. Not being able to contribute or be independent. Is not being able to pursue your purpose and do what you love. A job is so much more than a job. Please try and remember that the next time you feel inclined to tell someone they’re ‘lucky’ to not have to work due to chronic illness▪️

Alt text: You don’t owe anyone a detailed explanation of why you can’t do a thing. If you tell them straight up that you can’t do the thing, and they choose not to accept that then that’s on them. I wasted so much time over explaining my boundaries to people who weren’t capable of understanding. These days I’m saving my spoons for more important things.
