Meet the Massachusetts Department of Children and Families at Waltham RiverBeat 2026! 👨‍👩‍👧‍👦

We're pleased to welcome the Massachusetts Department of Children and Families (DCF), a state agency dedicated to protecting children from abuse and neglect and supporting the well-being of children, youth, and families across the Commonwealth. Through partnerships with families and communities, DCF provides services that help promote stability, growth, and healthy development.

The Dept. of Children and Families will be tabling at the festival, where you can learn more about the resources, programs, and services available to children, youth, and families throughout Massachusetts.

Meet the Waltham Land Trust at Waltham RiverBeat 2026! 🌳

We're pleased to welcome the Waltham Land Trust, a local nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting, protecting, restoring, and preserving open space in Waltham. Since its founding in 1999, the Waltham Land Trust has worked to foster appreciation for natural resources, protect native habitats, and support a healthier environment for the community.

The Waltham Land Trust will be tabling at the festival, where you can learn more about their work, upcoming programs, and opportunities to get involved. They will also be selling Waltham Land Trust t-shirts, baseball caps, and nature guidebooks featuring Prospect Hill Park and Cedar Hill.

In addition, WLT will be leading two free educational and historic walking tours during the festival:
🕙 10:00 AM – Westbound walk
🕑 2:00 PM – Eastbound walk

Meet the Waltham Philharmonic Orchestra at Waltham RiverBeat 2026! 🎶🎻

We're pleased to welcome the Waltham Philharmonic Orchestra (WPO), a local nonprofit organization dedicated to providing opportunities for community members to perform in and attend high-quality orchestral and chamber music concerts. Since 1985, the WPO has brought together musicians of all ages and backgrounds while enriching the cultural life of Waltham and the surrounding communities.

The WPO will be tabling at the festival, where you can learn more about the orchestra, upcoming performances, volunteer opportunities, and ways to get involved. Plus, you'll have a chance to win free tickets to a future WPO concert! 🎟️✨

Getting excited for Waltham RiverBeat 2026? Here's your guide to make the most of the festival on Saturday! 🗺

Our official Waltham RiverBeat 2026 festival map includes the locations of our stages, food vendors, artisan vendors, visual artists, community partners, activities, and more.

🚧 Please note: A small portion of Moody Street will be closed from 7:00 AM–6:00 PM on June 20 for the festival. There will be a soft closure at Carter Street for the southbound lane. Only vehicles with festival business or those needing access to the car rental, the Mill buildings, or businesses beyond the soft closure will be permitted through.

Explore the Charles River with the Wooden Canoe Heritage Association at Waltham RiverBeat 2026! 🛶

We're pleased to partner with the Wooden Canoe Heritage Association (WCHA) Norumbega Chapter. A partnership with Charles River Canoe and Kayak, they will be offering two guided paddling tours on the Charles River during the festival. Led by WCHA members in their beautiful wooden canoes, these one hour guided tours will depart from the boat launch at Margarita’s Mexican Restaurant and go approximately a quarter mile past the Woerd Avenue boat launch. Explore the Charles River while learning about local history and paddling heritage.

10:30 AM
2:30 PM

🚣 Registration:
Register online at www.walthamriverbeat.com under the "Activities Registration" tab. These tours are weather-dependent.

To reserve a boat:
Select "Equipment"
Choose June 20 on the calendar
Select "Up to 1.5 Hours"
Choose either the 10:30 AM or 2:30 PM tour
Use code WCHA50 to receive 50% off Paddle Boston rental pricing. If canceled because of weather, Paddle Boston will offer a refund minus 10% administrative fee or full credit towards another rental.

Bringing your own canoe or kayak? You're welcome to join the tour at no cost. Launch from the public boat launch on Woerd Avenue and meet the group at the start of the tour near Paddle Boston's rental area.

In addition to the tours, be sure to stop by the WCHA Norumbega Chapter's table to learn more about their work preserving and celebrating the history of wooden canoes.

Race with Charles River Canoe and Kayak at Waltham RiverBeat 2026! 🚣‍♂️

We're excited to partner with Charles River Canoe and Kayak (Paddle Boston). In addition to their regular boat rentals, they'll be hosting exciting boat races on the Charles River during the festival. Climb aboard a 5-person canoe and race around a buoy-marked course on the river. Prizes will be awarded! 🏁

🚣 Race Times:
11:00 AM
12:00 PM
1:00 PM

📝 Registration:
$5 per person
Registration for each race opens 30 minutes before the race begins and will take place on-site during the festival.

Whether you have a story ready to tell or simply want to reflect on a meaningful moment, this experience is designed to help bring those stories to life.
